Ahhh.....Baby Feet

I don't know about anyone else but I just love, love, love baby feet. There is just something about it that just makes you want to eat them up.

Can't you just chew and nibble on these? And she can't even really fit into shoes because of the chubbiness;)

And they are so little!! They look big in these pictures but they are cute little stubby feet and I love them;)

Play, Play, Play..........Crash

We played hard today and we are all tired. But thankfully, Makenna crashed and is snoozing away as I type. I just wish I could get J.J. to sleep at the same time;) It has been so beautiful lately that we have hit the park twice this week. I figured we had to do as much outdoors as we could before it got way too hot which happens very quickly here. So if we weren't at doctor's appointments this week, we were at the park.

This is Jordyn's play time and it's how we usually start the day. Jordyn loves her exersaucer and will play in there happily while I workout. She just twirls all around and plays with all the toys or just watches me and laughs at me jumping around.

This is her favorite toy. She is constantly trying to get that in her mouth. She's teething so she is chewing on everything lately, including me;)

Makenna is at a hard age where she feels like she is too big for the 'baby' slides but she is too small for the bigger slides. So I usually get up there with her. For some reason, the person that designed these things, put big gaping holes with a big drop right next to the slides. She can get up there easy enough but I'm always worried that she will fall through these open sections when she's not paying attention, which is often;) I don't mind. I get to be a big kid and it gives me some extra exercise.

And this is when we have played too much when we crash in our high chair. I had just finished feeding her cereal and I was rinsing off her little bowl. I turned back around and found this. She is just so stinking cute!!!

Way-Back Wednesday

I don't know if I was trying to scrapbook these pictures or what but either way, they have pretty paper around them;)

This is my Grandma and my brother was holding me. I think we can see where my girls got their baby chubbiness. Just look at those legs;)

This is before my 1st birthday cake was eaten......

And this is after;)

And finally, this is me and my younger brother. At least we weren't screaming but I don't look thrilled to be thereÜ

First Food!!

Jordyn has been watching us eat lately and looking really interested. Her doctor recently told us to start giving her some rice cereal and here's some pics from her first experience with food!

This is J.J. happy and ready to get some real food.

This is the slobbery mess afterwards. I think she spit out more than she ate but she will learn;)

And this is J.J. telling me that she has had enough and wants out and cleaned up!!!!

It is definitely a lot easier to just nurse her because this took me over a half hour for one tablespoon of cereal and most of it landed on her bib rather than in her belly. But she will get better and it will get easier eventually;) What a cutie!!!!

5 Random Facts

I got tagged by my friend Sarah and I'm supposed to post 5 random facts about myself. Sorry that it took me forever to do but here we go:

1. I had IUI's (Intra-Uterine Insemination) to get pregnant with both of my girls. We tried for a year and a half before we did the IUI and were successful. That might not seem like that long but it seemed like forever to me. It was a very frustrating, sad and painful time especially when I saw numerous people around me getting pregnant very, very easily. It was a monthly disappointment and I couldn't figure out why Heavenly Father wouldn't let me be a mother. That's all I wanted to be and it was so hard that I even skipped church on Mother's day one year because I didn't want to look at all the happy mothers with cute little babies. Now that I am passed all that, I now feel that I was supposed to go through that so that I can help others that may have the same problem and to let them know that they aren't the only ones. I also feel that it wasn't the right time to have my baby until I had her. It was absolutely the perfect time and it would have made life a lot easier if I would have just had faith and known that it would happen when it was supposed to.
2. Ok, now onto some not so heavy stuff. I used to work at Pizza Hut right after I graduated High School. But only delivering!!! I wouldn't have been able to just work the inside. It was actually a really good part time job while going through school. I made decent money and I got to just drive around all night. I would listen to talk shows on the radio and I even studied for my anatomy tests for massage. I made my own flash cards and I would look at them at a red light and repeat them to myself while I drove. I multi tasked nicely and it worked because I got an A+ on a very hard exam;) Oh, and make sure you tip at least two bucks to your delivery driver or go pick it up!!!Ü I also can't eat Pizza Hut anymore;)
3. I had a dream about my husband before we started dating. We've known each other since the 7th grade but I had only seen him once or twice after we graduated and this was like 5 years after. So it was quite odd for me to have a dream about him out of the blue. All morning I had this very strong feeling that I was supposed to call him but didn't want to because it had been so long. I finally gave in and called and GOT HIS ANSWERING MACHINE!!! I actually left a message and he called me back and the rest is history!!!
4. I have this huge fear of fire. I think it might be because our dryer caught fire when I was little and it has made me a little crazy about making sure that things are off. I will NEVER leave the house with the dryer on and I have to scan the house before I leave to make sure I have everything off. I will ask my husband if I turned something off and if I'm not sure, I will turn back around and check just in case. (Even if I'm almost to my destination) I know it's crazy but hopefully it makes my home safer.
5. I had two very easy labors and deliveries. My water broke with my first one and labor only lasted 6 hours with about 15 minutes of pushing. And my second one only lasted 5 hours without a lot of pushing either. I'm hoping that it decreases with each baby and my next will only last 4 hours!! Don't hate me!!!
I tag Jessica, Malissa and Tabatha;)

She just cracks me up every day!

Makenna has no butt anymore so her pants are always falling off of her. We always joke and tell her that we can see her butt crack. Well, today, my mom was putting her in her carseat and she yells out, "My butt is cracked!!!"

Then on the way to the store, she was telling my parents about an incident that happened months ago when I was still pregnant!! She slipped and fell down the stairs and I raced down after her totally upset. Of course in the moment, I was saying shi* over and over and over as I was running down the stairs. I'm sure you can imagine a big fat prego girl running down the stairs freaking out and scared that her little girl had hurt themselves. (Ya'll know you would have been saying the same thing! Now don't lie!!) Well, she told my mom that she fell down the stairs and that she was crying and her mommy was crying. And she said that her mommy said 'shi*'!! Mommy said a bad word!! I have no idea where that came from because it was at least seven months ago. Dang that girl has a memory that won't quit!!

Who says kids don't learn from tv?

I think it's bull when people say that kids don't learn anything from tv. I'm sure not all of it is educational but there are some really good shows out there. A couple that we watch are Little Einsteins and Signing Time. I love that Makenna gets to hear classical music and is really liking it. (Not that Travis wouldn't get her involved in that anyway but it's not on a daily basis) Travis had the classical music station on in the car and the "Brandenburg Concerto #5" by Bach came on and she yelled out in excitement, "It's the Birthday Machine". And just the other day when the show was coming on, she knew which episode it was just by the music. It was the "Flight of the Bumblebee" and she says, "It's Rocket Safari"!!! I don't know about anyone else but that is awesome that my daughter recognizes classical music! So she doesn't know the correct name of the pieces yet. I don't know them either. I had to ask my husband the names. But at least she is being exposed to it. She is also learning sign language from a show called "Signing Time". She amazes me how quickly she picks up on the signs. I have started recording them so we can watch the same one over and over to help us remember the signs. I'm learning right along with her. That is definitely something that I wouldn't be able to teach her. So, there you have it. We are tv watchers and I'm not afraid to admit it, dang it!!!

On a side note, Makenna was so funny during our prayers tonight. She has been a little stinker and not folding her arms and doing what she is supposed to. So, I told her she had to fold her arms and close her eyes. She was doing this while Travis was praying and she whispers to me, "I can't see Mommy. I can't see"!!!

Jordyn's ear boogers

I haven't posted much the last couple of days because my baby has had issues. The picture below shows her latest thing. If you get grossed out easy, don't look. It looks really gross if you make it larger;)

This is the goop from one of her ears after they burst;) I don't think it's bothering her except when I clean them out. She hates that part and hates it when we put her drops in. And as soon as I clean it out, it starts filling up again.

Jordyn's checkup

Jordyn had her 5 month well check today and she weighs in at 17.1 pounds and 24 1/2 inches long. Percentage wise, she is in the 90's for weight and only in the 40's for length. So she still is about as wide as she is tall;) I think she lost a little weight from being sick though. She was 18.9 pounds on Thursday with clothes on. It's not that big of a difference from having clothes on, is it? That just seems like a lot. She didn't want to eat much the last few days so I'm sure she lost a little bit anyway. It was also confirmed that she did have double full blown ear infections. He said there was some pus in there so Thursday must have just been the start of it. They were only slightly red then and he said that it can change in a matter of six hours. Yucky! And since she still had yuckies in her ears, they couldn't give her shots (not that I wanted them to give them to her anyway. I am just getting her feeling a little better). We missed her four month appointment and is behind so we get to go to the doctors again next week for her shots! Yay! Three times in two weeks. I'm so excited. And now my hubby is sick and feverish so I have another sick kid to take care of;)

You're Alright!!

I've been sleeping on the couch with Jordyn and I walked 4 1/2 hours straight the other night with her because she wouldn't stop crying. Poor baby. I'm thinking that she is on her way to getting better though. And needless to say, I'm sore. My legs hurt and my back and shoulders are crying. So yesterday, I laid on the floor and asked my hubby to push with all his might in those areas. Being a massage therapist, I need a lot of pressure or I don't even feel it;) So he was doing this when Makenna comes over and starts to walk on my back for me. It actually felt good until she would fall up by my head EVERY time. Finally, she really got me and fell with her knee into the back of my head and neck. It hurt a lot! She knew it had to hurt and she starts hugging me and rubbing my head while saying, "Awww! You're alright. You'll be ok. You're not hurt." She kept saying it. It was so cute because she sounded all grown up and it sounded like someone I know very well;) I guess I must tell her this when she gets hurt.

Go Tony!

It's Nascar time again! Yay! We are big Tony Stewart fans and he already won the smaller race today so hopefully he will get the big one tomorrow as well.

Makenna says "Go Tony!!" everytime she sees race cars on tv and we put J.J. in the little #20 jammies. I think she looks adorable!

This is us at the race last year. We had awesome seats. We've gone the last two years and it was so fun. We are going to sit this year out because I have a nursing baby, low funds and we just want to chill out and watch it on tv this time. Travis got into Nascar to have something in common with my brothers and he is just as big of a fan now.

This was also Jordyn's first race. She was in the oven in the above picture;)

Yay for refunds!

Since our old tv decided to stop working and forced us to get another one, we did our taxes earlier than I think we've ever done them;) So thanks to our new baby that we had last year, this is what we got each other for Valentine's day.

And my hubby also surprised me with these beautiful flowersÜ

Walking the floor

That pretty much sums up my last couple of days. My sweet baby has just been inconsolable at times. I was up most of the night walking with her. I think I got a total of two hours in my bed. She wouldn't let me lay her down in her crib so I had to either sleep in the recliner or the couch propped up with her. I was pretty tired this morning but my parents came to the rescue and took Makenna shopping with them and that helped ALOT!! I'm so thankful to have such wonderful parents. They also came tonight so my dad could help give J.J. a blessing. She had a temp of 103 and she thankfully got a lot cooler afterwards. I don't think she has actually broken her fever the last two days. It just goes from hot to warm and back again. I'm gearing up for another long night and praying that she starts to feel better. It's so hard to see my baby hurting. She is such a happy baby that she still gives me some smiles with those watery sad eyes. Yay for daddy being home tomorrow to help;)

Happy Valentine's Day

On this day last year, we got our first look at our beautiful second daughter. We got to see our little peanut and then we celebrated by going out to Red Lobster.

A year later, we have our beautiful sweet baby in our arms. And today, she wouldn't let me get her out of them. I was barely able to get dressed. She was feeling really yucky and just cried and moaned all day which is totally not her. I ended up taking her to the doctor and her ear is a little red. I think it was just the start because she has just screamed all night and has had a fever that won't go away. I think it's going to be a long night. But it's ok. I have my precious little baby in my arms and I will stay up all night if I have to. I will walk the floor until I'm ready to drop because I love this little bundle (well not so little....she weighs 18.9 pounds). And I love my other little miracle too who was very jealous of her sister today. They are both such special girls and I have a wonderful husband who loves all of us girls. It wasn't the best Valentine's day but I know our family is full of love and I don't need a day to tell me when to show it.
Look at this pathetic face....Poor baby;(

Way-Back Wednesday

I almost didn't get these posted today but alas you will have the pleasure of seeing my old pics;)
This is me and my brothers at my great grandma's house in Idaho. I don't remember a thing about it but that's what my mom says;)

And this is me with my little brother and our sweet dogs. We were never without a dog while growing up and they were awesome dogs too. The dalmation we got at the pound and the springer found us. She just came into our yard and never left.

Diaper duty

Sounds heard when Daddy changed the poopy diaper today;

"Ah, man.....look at all the snaps. How do I even get to it??? Ugh! You should help me. Ah man!!! Oh gross!!! What the heck??? I've never done one this big.....Heeeelp me!!"

*Jordyn and Mommy dying laughing*

"What the heck??? There's poop in the rolls!! Ooooooh, it stinks!!! Ugh, you should be doing this! Phew! Now you have to snap her back up because I can't figure those things out."

*Jordyn and Mommy still laughing*

Beautiful Day

This is why I live in the desert!!! We had a beautiful day with a high of 70 degrees today.

Nice!

Me: "Makenna, get your finger out of your nose."

Makenna: "But mommy. I have a booger."

"pause"

Makenna: "It's stuck!"

Can I have some???

Pssst! Hey sis.....Can I have some of that bagel? A piece? Come on.....just a bite!! I'll love you forever.

Day of Rest?

Sundays have become anything but a day of rest. We have the 1-4 block which is awful and to add to it, Travis has to do choir practice and I am supposed to go to various meetings before church throughout the month. This last Sunday was quite tiring for Makenna. She played like crazy with her daddy before church, played in nursery (which she loves) during church and then played with her cousin at my moms house right after church. Since we have the late block, there are no naps on Sundays AT ALL!!! By the time we get to my moms for dinner, there are plenty of tantrums and screaming heard all around the house. To add to it, her cousin is now two and they fight like crazy over toys and stuff. And it is just worse when she isn't rested. When we got home last night, we skipped her bath and just put her in pajamas and got ready for bed. I read her books and sang her songs like normal and after that, she always wants me to rock her for a minute. I love this time with her and we just cuddle before she goes to bed. Well, last night, I started to hear some snoring as I was rocking. She had totally fallen asleep in my arms. She hasn't done that in forever!! It was so sweet. She always wakes up when I put her in her bed though and expected it but she must have been just way too tired because she didn't budge as I lowered her into her bed. It was so nice.

Don't look now...

But someone is sitting up!! I can't believe it.

This pic is a little dark but her smile was too cute not to post. And don't you just want to chew on those cute little feet?

Slow down time.....slow down!!!! Ü

Review

Um.....Yeah......Not so good!!!

Rolling over?

Jordyn absolutely hates tummy time. I try to put her on her tummy at least once a day but she only lays there for a few minutes before she starts screaming. I told her that she had to be on her tummy to learn how to roll over. Well, I think she is trying to prove me wrong because after I put her on her back, I found her like this.

I guess she will eventually do it....her way;)

Twins two years apart

I did an e-mail with this a few months back and still when I look at baby pictures of Makenna, I sometimes have to check the date to see which baby I'm looking at. You can definitely tell that they are sisters;)

Here they are when they were around 2 months old

At 2 1/2 months old

And at about 4 1/2 months old

Am I wrong???

Bills. Bills, Bills

As Makenna sits on the ottoman looking through the mail we had just brought in, she says, "bills, bills, bills. Nothing but bills."

My other daughter decided, after weeks of sleeping for 11-12 hours a night, to wake up twice last night and be up for the day at 5:30. Makenna also woke up once to add to the joy. Needless to say, I need a nap;)

And to put the cherry on top, our tv decided to break!! All of a sudden, without warning, no picture!! Ugh!!

Way-Back Wednesday

I'm 20 here with my adorable niece who just turned 13 last week!!!

I told you Travis had a blow dryer in high school and now I just proved it;) This is what I call his Vanilla Ice hair.

And I thought I would throw in an old pic of our Lady. This was taken in 2002 when she was 1. She didn't even have her curls yet and actually looked pretty scraggly but we still thought she was a cutie.

I have absolutely nothing to say........

Travis says that's a first;)

Snuggle and a Snooze

What do you do after a morning full of cleaning and organizing??? Well, a snuggle and a snooze, of course!! Our sweet Lady bug gets so cuddly after she has been groomed.

Can you say spoiled??? Our freshly washed sheets are laying next to her and a few minutes later, she was all snuggled in the middle of them;)
