Thanksgiving fun

We had a great Thanksgiving. We enjoyed spending time with both sides of our families. It is so nice to have our families so close to us. The girls just played and played with their cousins and were very tired by the end of the day;)
Jordyn loved playing with this grocery cart. She pushed this thing everywhere.

Jordyn is about ready to pass out here.

Makenna was so busy with her cousins that I didn't get a chance to get her picture. So I had to post this one with me. She's such a doll.

And since I reached my goal of 15 pounds before Thanksgiving, I figured I would post a recent pic of me. I was going to post a before pic but I realized that I don't have too many pics of me. I'm usually the one taking the pics;)

Bonk!!

She did it again....this time bonking her forehead!! She has a big bump sticking out of her beautiful, little forehead. Poor baby!!

My beauty also figured out how to scoot down the stairs on her butt today. And she is very proud of it. She kept doing it and clapping her hands!! She's such a doll face, even with a horn coming out of her head;)

And.....my desk is clean!!! The reason why? I got released as R.S. secretary and I just got rid of 8, yes 8, binders!!! I can't believe how much room it freed up!!

She did it again!!

This time, it's our universal remote!!! I'm going to have to examine our trash every so often so she doesn't really throw something away;)

My thoughts on Twilight

I went into this movie with an open mind. We all have different imaginations and I was curious as to how they pictured this book. I have to say that I thought it was great. It started out slow but so did the book so you can't really blame the movie for that. I really liked the actors (except for Jasper....he looked very odd, but that was also the point) I loved the Dad too!! He was so funny. He reminded me of my Dad. He loves his daughter but is very quiet. It was hilarious when he gave Bella the pepper spray and was working on his rifle when he met Edward. They were all very beautiful and the scenery was amazing!!! I am going to have to visit my friend Tabatha that lives in Oregon. That was just a whole lot of green!! Loved it! I also tried to go in with a youthful view as well. There were many teenagers around me squealing with delight. At first I rolled my eyes but then I smiled. A mother and her daughter (with friends) sat in front of us and I could picture me sitting with my girls when they are teenagers doing something similar to this. I thought it was great. It also reminded me of when I took my little sister (who is 9 years younger than me) to a Backstreet Boys concert years ago. Yes, I felt too old and out of place but I didn't let that make me not enjoy it. I feel the same about this movie and I enjoyed it.

Phew!

Man, I'm tired. Makenna wouldn't listen all day. And I mean ALL day! And Jordyn kept bonking her head!! She's been top heavy lately and when she falls down, she will continue onto her head. The poor girl has bruises all over her forehead and a black eye. This pic doesn't even really show the blueness that is her head. (You can see the blue on her right eye though) Hopefully she will continue to balance better and not fall as much. Or she can be like her mother and just be a klutz;) But anyway, they are both in bed EARLY!!! And I'm off to do my yoga;)

Bathing Beauties

Jordyn was in the bath with her sister;)

But this girl loves the sink!!

She will play in there for quite awhile! Too cute;)

And our regular storytime ended last week for quite awile so we decided to try a new one at a different place. It stunk!! We won't be back there again. Makenna and Gunnar even said, "Where's Miss Shelly???" She's our normal storytime lady. It was so cute. But even though it wasn't the best, we made these awesome pilgrim hats. Aren't we just so crafty???Ü

More of my Makenna

Makenna is my little parrot and she always talks to Jordyn like I do. She calls her by the exact same nicknames and is a good big sister keeping her from doing things that she shouldn't. The other day Jordyn was doing something that she wasn't supposed to and Makenna says, "No no, J.J. Jazz Millett!!!" (She doesn't realize the second 'J' is for the Jazz;)

And she is always making sure we have our seat belts on so we stay safe. On the way home from Grandma's house tonight, Travis wasn't wearing his. She told him he needed to put his seat belt on and Travis asked why. She replied, "Because......you might fly through the windshield!!"

Where does she get this stuff???

Makenna just cracks me up!!

She just says the funniest things!! We were at the store today and as we were waiting for Grandma and Papa, Makenna saw a white Quest like ours driving away. She started freaking out. I asked her what the matter was and she said, "Someone's taking our car!!! Someone's taking her car!! Go get it mommy!!!"

She was also in the bath the other day and she started wiping the tub with a washcloth. All of a sudden she starts singing, "Sing Sweet Nightingale".

She said, "Don't give me attitude!" and "Mom, hold your patience!!" I tell her to be patient all the time and that is how she tells me the same thing.

She also kept saying "ARRRR Matey!!" Travis and I couldn't figure out what the heck she was saying. Finally, she goes, "Huh......a pirate!!! Yeah, duh, mom and dad!!! It was just cute how she was saying it;)

And also the other day, she said a very big word and said it right!! She told Travis that she has to put lotion on her arms OTHERWISE she will get a rash!!

Love this girl;)

What I'm doing

I had a couple people ask what I'm doing to lose the weight. All I am doing is trying to keep my daily calories at 1200 and I don't count my fruits and veggies. I don't eliminate anything. If I want chocolate or a burger, I eat it. I just have to add those calories into my daily count so I may not be able to have much else if it is a lot. I don't count fat grams (but I do try to pick stuff that is low) or calculate things. All I do is add! I know that if I tried to not eat certain stuff like breads and sugars that I wouldn't stay on it. I don't know why people take bread out of their diets anyway. It's good for you and my whole wheat bread is only 70 calories a slice. I can have a turkey sandwich with light mayonnaise and mustard for only 235 calories. Coke Zero is my friend. I love the new vanilla and cherry kinds and I try to drink tons of water. I have also been looking online for low calorie dinners. That is the issue that I have right now. I can have my lean cuisines for lunch but I have a hard time figuring out dinners that will be low for me but yummy for my family. I found this one recipe for Ham and Potato soup that I made last night that is only supposed to be 198 calories per serving. I'm sure that is for a small serving but I figured even if I had a big bowl and doubled it, it would still be low and it was soooo yummy! I also bike ride with my mom while pulling 55 pounds of kids or do my Tae Bo every morning and do hand weights two or three times a week. I also have a free day every Saturday. That's when I eat things like pancakes, maybe a Big Mac and M&M's. It keeps me good during the week. I can be good because I know I only have so many days before I can eat whatever again. I don't go too crazy but I do enjoy that day. Anyway, that's what I'm doing and I hope that it will keep working!!

Progress

Well, it's been a whole month since I started my diet and I've lost a total of 11 1/2 pounds. I have definitely started to see the difference. My clothes are fitting better and I wore a skirt to church on Sunday that I haven't been able to get into in a very long time. I can also tell my honey is noticing;) My goal is to get to 15 pounds by Thanksgiving. I will then be at my weight before I got pregnant. Then I will try my hardest to enjoy the holidays without gaining it all back. After that, I will try for some more. (Well, I will always be trying for some more;) I'm so excited to see progress and I feel so much better about how I look.

Got Twilight?

So my best friend Sarah wrote a post about making twilight t-shirts to make money to fly me out to see her in Texas! I thought she was kidding but she has started a new blog and it says the same thing on it. Soooo, if you twilighters want some cool shirts, go HERE and check out what she has! It's free shipping and it's for a good causeÜ

Oh so close.....

Yet so far away;( 2 1/2 yards to be exact. It was an amazing game though. They definitely made it exciting right down to the finish and they were 2 1/2 yards away from being the winners. So sad but a very good effort. It's been a bad few years. I'm so ready for them to get better already so I can get excited again.

Family weekend

We had a lot of my extended family over for dinner on Saturday because my cousin Jenny was here from Washington D.C. and her parents were here from Utah. She's been my buddy since we were in diapers. We are the only cousins that were really the same age group. Everyone else was at least a few years younger so we've always been friends. I haven't seen her in so long so it was nice to be able to visit with her. She's such a cutie....can you believe she is still single??? Anyone know anyone in the D.C. area;)

Who is this?

My Makenna is so funny. She makes a beautiful Sleeping Beauty, don't you think?

And I don't want to gross you out with a picture of my trash but I think this is so cute. Miss J.J. hates having her socks on her feet. And I mean hates it!! If I don't have shoes on her, she takes them off immedietly. I don't know how I'm going to keep this girl's feet warm this winter. This picture shows how much she hates her socks. I saw her throwing them away the other day....little stinker. She actually tries to throw lots of things away. Her baby, blanket, etc. I just hope I find everything before it really gets thrown away;)

In an effort to be more frugal!!

Before....(and this was a month ago)

During;)
After

We bought some clippers and Travis shaved Lady. I just couldn't justify spending that much money on getting her hair cut if I wasn't doing it for myself. I think Travis did a great job. The first picture doesn't really show how really hairy Lady was. She did really well too. Once she figured out what we were trying to do, she just laid down and hung out. That is until he started moving toward the rear;) Haha!

I'm nervous

*about having a completely Democratic congress and president.

*about our safety. Biden said himself that Obama was going to be tested in the first six months of his presidency. Unfortunately, it's always innocent people that get hurt and not the far left liberals that claim they only want peace.

*that my food storage and 72 hour kits are no where near completion.

*about my power bill going up even more since Obama said he was going to put the coal people out of business.

*that Obama will take the little money I have and give it to people doing nothing.

*that more innocent little babies that could have survived outside of the womb will not.

There are lots of things that I'm nervous about but we can't control everything. I'm just going to try to be positive and not worry about it.

Our Halloween

*edited to add more pics.....bummed that I didn't get any with the girls and great grandma. What was I thinking?

I was waiting to post about Halloween because my mom has better pictures than I do but I keep forgetting to ask her for them. So I will add more pics to this later;)
The first house we went to had three guys in scary costumes at the door and Makenna did a 180 and ran screaming back to Travis. The lady came out with a handful of candy to give to her but she didn't want to go up to any more houses after that. We convinced her that our neighbor across the street wouldn't be scary but it still took like five minutes for her to go up to the door. And then of course down the street, there were a couple of kids that dressed up in the "Scream" costumes and I don't think she wanted to do much after that. Since they are so young, we just went to a couple more houses. She had enough candy from the trunk or treat anyway. Jordyn was just chilling in the wagon, content to sit and watch her sister and all the people. There were tons of people walking our street. I've never seen that many. It must have been because it was so warm. I've lived here all my life and I don't remember a Halloween where we didn't even need at least a light sweater;) We then headed over to great grandma's house. She always makes homemade doughnuts every year and I am happy to say that I stuck to my diet (mostly) and only ate one little doughnut hole;) She has wood floors and both of them loved clicking their shoes back and forth on it to make as much sound as possible.
Our beautiful princess and adorable Minnie (I wish she would keep ears on her head because that would have been so cute but that girl will not put anything on) We at least got a nose on her.

I didn't get very good pics at all, especially of Jordyn so I will post more when I get them from my mom!

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad

I am so thankful to have come from such good parents and a solid home. 36 years is amazing! Let's make it another 36;)

Enchanted and Buttons

Ahahahaha Ahahahaha Ahahahahaha

I saw Makenna doing this in her play house and thought it was so cute. She is mimicking Giselle in "Enchanted" when she is calling for help to clean the house.

And someone found their belly button a couple of weeks ago;)

Now she lifts her shirt up all the time and pushes her button. It's so much fun;)
