I just found out that somebody leaked Stephenie Meyer's draft of her future novel "Midnight Sun". It's Edward's version of Twilight. I read the first chapter that she posted awhile ago and it was awesome. She unfortunately put the book on hold indefinitely but has posted what she has already done on her site. It's 264 pages and I hope that she will eventually get to finish it. Just click HERE to read it.

Miss Lana
My husband has given our funny little girl the nickname of Lana. Why, you might ask. Well, it's anal backwards;) It's all out of love, believe me, but it's oh so true. She makes us laugh (and cry) all the time with all the things that she HAS to have a certain way.
For example:
1. She has to have her blanket upside down with Pooh's feet at her head.
2. She has to have a certain cup with water at an exact spot by her bed. (She's gotten mad at me for having it like 5 inches off)
3. She can't have anything on the floor, (ie: dirty clothes or socks)
4. Everything on her shelves have to be right in the right place and we can't add anything new to it. (Her grandma bought her a piggy bank that she was so excited for and we put it on her shelf. Later that night as we put her to bed, she got all upset. I went up to see what was wrong and she got up, put the piggy bank in the hall and went back to bed.)
5. We can't have any lights on outside of her room.
6. She has to have her feet covered with her blanket when I sing her songs. If her feet pop out at any time, she freaks out.
7. She has to have her humidifier on.
8. I have to say goodnight to all the Little Einsteins on her clock.
9. She has to have vaseline on her lips.
10. Her baby or bear can't be touching her blanket and they have to be in a certain spot.
I'm sure there is more but that is what I remember right this second. We always wonder what we forgot to do or what is out of place when she starts screaming and we always just have to chuckle when we realize what it is. She is an awesome sleeper so I can't complain that she has to have everything just so. My mom said that maybe she will have a very clean room when she gets older;)

I'm so glad when Daddy comes home
All the girls got really close to their Daddy over the summer especially with their alone time while I was at work. He had to get back to work last week and we were waiting for him to come home a couple of days ago. I lifted the blinds and this cutie just stared out the window for a long time.
And so did this one;) She misses her daddy too!!
Holy Molar!!!
Jordyn started getting a fever on Monday night so I felt to see if another tooth was popping through. And of course there was!! Her upper left molar has now poked through and trying to get all the way through the gums. I'm sure it's super painful. She just looked so pathetic. I just figured that was what her fevers were from but then she got the runny nose. I still thought maybe it was from teething since it can cause that. But this is what we woke up to this morning....
Some serious gross boogers!! Sorry TMI;) So, I guess she has a little bug along with being in pain from this massive tooth. Not fun but this sweet little baby still gives us cute smiles even while she isn't feeling good.

Gymnastics class
Makenna went to her first gymnastics class today. I was so excited to finally put her in something and I have had friends highly recommend the rec center. Makenna has needed something to do during the day. She needs more than me even if I only take her to things once or twice a week. She was even more excited to go after watching the Olympics. She kept asking when she could do her gymnastics.
Here she is on the balance beam (Her favorite by far)
The bar where they flip all the way around.
Doing a hand stand. (Not sure if you can see her through the teacher;)
Not sure what this is except a smaller balance beam that they went on sideways.
I'm so thankful that she had a wonderful time because it definitely wasn't because of the teacher. She was such a wench that I wanted to just go over and smack. Seriously!! First of all, the other parents that were there before us had spread out over all of the chairs so we had to stand. No biggie but they were all just so smug and snotty looking. Like, oh my goodness, here is a girl that doesn't know what she is doing. I swear I kept getting dirty looks the whole time. Um, everyone has to start somewhere. I learned that it is very unfortunate that the classes were by age, not by level. I would have loved to just have been in a beginner class. All the other girls knew what to do. It was Makenna's first time!!! Give her a break. At least let her learn what was going on!!! At the beginning of the class they were stretching and I swear they were doing this for like 10 minutes!! Makenna was so eager to play on all of the stuff that it took all of her will to just sit there and the teacher kept getting mad at her for not stretching. Um, yeah, she's three and we've never sat for 10 minutes stretching. I was very proud of her that she even sat there at all. Then, she shows how to do like six different things and then tells the girls to go through them all while she helps a girl here and a girl there when they look like they need it. Well, since my daughter had never done any of these things, she wasn't about to know exactly what to do after telling her once. Personally, she should have taken one thing at a time and had every girl go through while she helped EVERY girl. She kept yelling at Makenna because she kept wanting to go to the balance beam. Well, that was the only thing she knew how to do by herself!!! And it wouldn't have been as bad if my daughter was the only one that was new. But there was a girl named Hannah that was obviously new too and the teacher kept talking all sweet and nice to her and saying, "It's ok honey", while she said, "Get in Line Makenna!!!" to my daughter! I was getting so pissed and my mom got so mad that she had to walk out! The teacher also made Makenna go last for everything and at the end gave high fives to everyone except my last turn going daughter. She just told her to sit down and didn't give her any praise. I know I should have said something at the end but I was so livid that I just had to leave because I'm not sure what I would have said. I even thought about not going again but Makenna was oblivious to what was going on and had a blast. So, just as long as she has a good time, I will keep taking her. But if she treats my daughter like that again, we will be having a discussion!!!
Anyway, rant over....afterwards, we went to the party store to look for some stuff for Jordyn's birthday and I found these adorable Minnie ears. Her theme is going to be Mickey and Minnie Mouse since she loves them and I had to get a picture of her in them. I wasn't going to buy them because they stay on her head for only about 1.2 seconds. Just long enough to get this picture. Her head is down because she was already in the process of taking them off. O-well. It would have been cute to get;)

Putting baby to bed
I was getting a little mad at Makenna because we were supposed to be winding down and getting ready for bed and I thought she was fooling around in her room. I stormed in there to check on her and this is what I found.....
I had to run and get my camera and I got there in enough time for the last verse. My sweet Makenna. She made me eat crow;)

Outside fun!!
It hasn't been too hot this week so we've been able to go outside and play for a little bit. Makenna loves the water but Jordyn screamed whenever I tried to put her down on it;)

Favorite place
Jordyn loves to crawl under the highchair and play. She will just sit under there and pull the bibs out and play with toys. Mom and Dad love it because she will keep herself entertained for quite awhile under there.

11 months
Holy smokes!! We only have ONE month before our baby turns ONE!!! I can't believe it!! She is really turning into a big girl though. She is just on the verge of walking. If she has something in her hands that interests her, she will stand for a long period of time without even realizing it. She will take 4-5 steps between us but again only if she has something in her hands. She will just lift her legs up after one or two tries if she doesn't because she gets bored with it. Jordyn is so busy. She just wants to play, play, play. We finally got her to figure out how to go DOWN the steps now so we don't have to make a huge border with our kitchen chairs anymore. She is 20 pounds 7 ounces and 27 1/2 inches and must just be leveling off since she is crawling and cruising all over the place. She still has the cutest, chubby thighs and chunky feet you ever did see. It's hard to keep shoes on them because she just kicks them right off. We are starting to just put her in bed after singing her some songs instead of rocking her to sleep. It's nice because it's soo much quicker but I do miss the cuddling. She still gives lots of loves during the day though. Every morning, Travis is still getting his morning hug after she gets her nummies. Unfortunately, he won't be getting those in a couple of days since he is back to work. I'm sure he will get a huge hug when he gets home though. And finally, Miss Jordyn has gotten yet another tooth!!!!! It's one of her one year old molars!! This makes nine and I think her other ones are trying to come through too. I really don't know exactly when she got it because it's way in the back on the right!! I only realized that she had it after I was trying to take something out of her mouth (she puts everything that is on the floor in her mouth!!) and felt a big bump on the right. I will document that she got it on 8/15 though since that is when I found it. This month will be busy planning a birthday party for my almost one year old;(

More cute Kenna
Makenna is so observant and has the best memory. She knows exactly which streets we are supposed to go on to get to a lot of places including Grandma and Papa's and Grandma and Grandpa's. And if we go a different route, she gets upset because she thinks we aren't going there. We were running errands a couple of weeks ago when we drove by the cemetery that my grandpa is buried in. As we drove by, I said, "Hi Grandpa!!" Makenna started freaking out wondering where her grandpa was. I told her that it was where my Grandpa was. Today, we drove by that same cemetery (I wasn't going to say anything today because I didn't want to confuse her) and Makenna yells out, "That's where Grandpa lives!!!!"

Doofus of the week
I was at work today and had to do a deep tissue on this old guy. He was very hard to talk to because he mumbled really bad and I just couldn't understand him. I had to keep asking him to repeat it. It was one of the times where I wished he was just quiet. So anyway, he starts fidgeting because he is having a hard time putting his face in the face cradle. I give him a rolled up towel to let him lay on thinking that would make him happy. Nope. He keeps lifting his whole upper back up while I'm trying to massage it. So annoying. Then he asks me probably the stupidest question I've heard in a long time.
Ron: Could you massage my back with me laying on my other side?
Me: What? (thinking that I had to have heard him wrong since it was hard to understand him)
Ron: Could you massage my back with me laying on my other side?
Me: While you are laying on your back?
Ron: Yeah.
Me: Massage your back while you are laying on your back?
Ron: Yeah.
Me: Um.....no. (Me thinking.....What the.....?)
Seriously??? How are you supposed to massage the back while the person is laying on it. Let me just crawl under the table and with my super human strength massage you through it.
On a cuter note:
(Makenna and Travis watching Misty May and Kerri Walsh playing beach volleyball in tiny swim suits in the olympics)
Makenna: Daddy....What are they wearing?
Travis: Um...those are swim suits honey.
Makenna: Nu uh......those are bras!!

I think he's done.....
with projects this summer. Travis has been a busy bee painting and doing baseboards and a chair rail in the den. He finally finished with that and decided to redo the fishtank to match our painting in that room. I must say he did a great job!!! But I'm also glad the projects are finished. I'm tired of my house being a mess;)
This is what it looked like before.
And this is what it looks like now.
My parents got us a numbered original painting of the Nauvoo temple when we went there last year that is beautiful. I think the fish tank goes very well with it now.
Now if I can only get him to clean the garage;)

I finally let her paint....
I'm not a big fan of messes so it's taken me this long to let Makenna play with paints. I'm glad that I finally did though because she absolutely loved it.
The only problem is that she also decided to paint herself. Of course!! She had to make sure there was something for me to clean up;)

What's up with Disney???
I have been trying to get Makenna to watch different Disney movies lately from Bambi to Aladdin to Lady and the Tramp. They are classics but what is up with all of the violence??? And why do they always have to kill off the MOM!!! Seriously!!! I think they are trying to give our little ones nightmares. Travis put on Monster's Inc yesterday to try to get Makenna to watch something other than Enchanted and the whole beginning was about trying to collect as many kid's screams as you could. And of course the monsters are under the bed. Travis turned it off and put something else on but not before it got in her head that there are monsters under her bed. She was worried about it when I was putting her to bed last night. And there is always some witch wanting to kill the beautiful maiden. Snow White gets chased in the forest, Ariel almost gets knocked off by the evil witch, Sleeping Beauty gets cursed. I know they have to have a plot but geez!! Even Enchanted has a "mean lady" (according to Makenna) who wants to kill Giselle. Do they always have to want to "kill" the beautiful chic??? Do we really have to go there? But I guess I still let her watch these shows so I guess that is on me. I do fast forward Snow White though until she is safe in the forest. She is not watching some man running after Snow White trying to kill her. It scares me!!!Ü

Just a bit of random
Makenna is just a sweetie pie. Last night she sang to each of her Einstein's dolls and put them to bed. What a love bug.
She also loves to put in her own "pretties" in her hair. I let her do whatever she wanted this morning and this is what she did.
As you can see behind Makenna in the above picture, there are chairs lining the wall to try to prevent this.....We can't keep Jordyn off of the stairs!!!
I put Jordyn in Makenna's dolly stroller the other day and Makenna had too much fun pushing her around all over the house. And of course Jordyn looked too cute in that small thing;) The wheels looked like they were going to buckle.
There have also been some new milestones for our Miss Jordyn. She decided to take her first couple of steps on Friday. She goes back and forth between Travis and I a couple of times, but after that, she is done. She buckles her knees and won't do it anymore but I still think she will be walking sooner than I'm ready. She also started clapping her hands today. I was feeding her lunch and she just started doing it. She was so proud of herself. It was adorable. She's also a big love bug. When she wakes up in the morning, I bring her back to bed to nurse her. After she has had her breakfast, she climbs up on Travis and lays her head on him and gives him a love. I thought it was absolutely adorable the first day she did it and she keeps doing it everyday!! She is such a daddy's girl that I think she is going to have a hard time when he goes back to work. She'll probably keep looking for him that first week;)

It's been awhile...
My mom informed me that I haven't been posting lately. It's partly because my den was torn apart while Travis painted and put in a chair rail and base boards (with my poor computer stuck in the middle of the room totally blocked). Partly because I couldn't put Breaking Dawn down and all I wanted to do was read. And partly because we haven't been doing a whole lot to blog about;) Just enjoying each other and friends. Enjoying the last two weeks before Travis gets back to work. Of course he's on to another project....redoing the stand to our fish tank. It might be nice to get back to some kind of routine when he goes back to work. At least my house will be clean;)
