Didn't realize how bad it was....

Today, I got to go to work. I have only worked three days this month which is crazy!! January is normally very slow so I wasn't too worried about it until I got there today. I first noticed the parking garage had about half as many cars in it. And for a Saturday at a hotel on Super Bowl weekend, that is bad!! It seemed even worse as I walked through the halls to get to the spa. It was eerily empty. And to top it off, my manager said that they told her to cut all the part timers (ME) but she is fighting against it so she can call me in when she needs me like on days like this. I think (HOPE) it will get better once the warmer weather comes but who knows. I will have to start praying because I have no idea what else I would do. I had no idea it had gotten this bad. It wasn't even like this just a month ago. Crazy!

Some of my thoughts

A few days ago, a pizza delivery driver was shot and killed not too far from here. This hit a nerve with me because I used to deliver pizzas. And to top it off, this man was putting himself through massage school which is what I was doing 10 years ago. It made me realize how dangerous the world is and how stupid people can just turn it upside down in an instant. It made me realize how blessed (even though I was undeserving of it at the time) I was while I worked this job. I never had anyone come up to me and steal my money. The only major problems I had in the whole four years that I did this job was some retard exposed himself in front of me and I also had my pizzas stolen. They had called with an address that was an empty residence (just like this guys) and lurked there until I realized that no one was at this apartment. They blocked my way and yanked the pizzas from my hands and took off running. They never asked for my money but I was pissed that they did that to me. I even tried to hang on to those dumb pizzas and struggled with them for a minute. How stupid that was and how worse things could have been. And it wasn't like there wasn't anyone that got robbed at my store. Lots of people did but I personally never did. I always thought that it was because I was a girl but now that I'm thinking about it, I know that I was being watched over. I had to go to some pretty shady areas, namely Civic Center and Cheyenne (much worse than this murdered man) and I had no problems. It was pretty scary but I feel so blessed that I never had any issues. I hope the guys that shot this man get found because they need to rot in jail!!

And another thing I've been thinking about is how nonchalant people are about abortion these days. Like it's no big deal!! Especially late term abortion (which Obama totally supports) when there is a chance that the baby can survive. I don't know how that can't be perceived as murder. And I can't understand why they don't just give birth and give the baby up for adoption to couples that are desperate to have children if they are that far into the pregnancy! It boggles my mind. Travis and I would have been that couple if our IUI's didn't work. We didn't have (nor have now) $20,000 to spend on InVitro. Our only other option would have been adoption. I recently saw this AD that was put out by catholicvote.org. It is awesome!! Click on it and view. It's only 41 seconds. The best part about it is there is no argument that anyone can say against it!! JMO!!

Anyway, I have just been thinking about how precious life is and feel very blessed to have the family that I have.

Makenna funnies

The other day, I had two bottles sitting at the top of the stairs so I would remember to take them down when I was ready. I got J.J. dressed and came back and the bottles were gone. I asked Makenna where the bottles were and she told me she washed them out. I looked by the sink and there they were, rinsed out and everything. It was the sweetest thing. What a good little helper she is.

And today, we were driving and saw a ladder next to a house with some work trucks parked out front. Makenna asked my why there was a ladder there. I told her they must be doing some work on the house to which she replies, "But there were no boys around!!" I guess it has to be boys that do that kind of work. I have to agree. I don't fancy getting on a roof;)

Baby is found!!!

Baby had been missing for about a year!! A very long time. We had pretty much resigned ourselves to the fact that we would never see her again. It was sad but we adopted a new baby. A clean, fresh baby that took the place well of our old baby. A couple days ago, Makenna found the lost baby. There is a cubby hole behind my bed that I obviously NEVER use;) She opened it up and there she was blanket, bottle and all. She had put her to bed there about a year ago and didn't remember. Now we have twins. They have the same outfit, face, everything. The only difference is one is dirtier and the mouths are slightly different. This has been very exciting indeed for our dear child. She loves the fact that she now has TWO babies to take care of. Thank goodness Santa decided to get some more bottles for the babies so there is enough to go around. It's a full house now;)

Some honest things about me.....

Miss Ashley tagged me. So, here are 10 things you may or may not know (or want to know) about ME!!

1. I get very nervous when talking in church! My heart feels like it's going to pound out of my chest. I get all shaky and I just want to curl up in a ball and cry! I get this way even if I make a comment in Relief Society or say the prayer. It's really ridiculous.

2. I'm a little OCD. And today is proof of that. We were almost to church and I was wondering if I had unplugged my straight iron. I had to drop Travis and Makenna off and go back just to check. Jordyn wasn't too happy about that either. She couldn't figure out why we weren't getting out too. Then, as I was heading back to church, I wondered if I shut the garage door so I turned back around to check. Thankfully I wasn't too far away, but still!! I guess I worry that my house will catch on fire or get broken into. I have to mentally think about it or I will always second guess if I've done it or not. Travis thinks I'm nuts!!

3. I can't stand it when people play their music very loud when I'm at home. Well, more specifically, their bass when all you hear is the thumping and rattling of the cars. It's so annoying and it makes me boil especially if they do it for a very long time. Some people, like me, like to take naps and it drives me insane. I really don't need to hear the neighbor down the street. Really!

4. I'm not a typical girl. I think I've been a tomboy since I was younger with an older brother and younger brother (I didn't get a sister until I was nine). I just hung out with their friends and played basketball and softball with them. I really don't enjoy clothes shopping (I do like new clothes....I just wish someone would do it for me) and I love sports. We went to a 49ers game on our honeymoon!!

5. I hate doing my hair. And I hate that it takes men like 2 minutes to do theirs. I really wish we were like the Jetson's!! I would love to go in a machine at one end and come out the other all dressed and with my hair done;)

6. I go on spiritual roller coasters. Sometimes I am on a real high and others real low. I'm at the low end right now but it's good to know that it's just a matter of time before I got back up again.

7. I'm a homebody. And I'm lucky that Travis is the same way. Don't get me wrong. I like to go out occasionally too but I am very happy to just be home.

8. I'm not a very good entertainer. I get all crazy about it. I feel like my house has to be spotless and everything has to be perfect. So, I run around like a crazy person and don't really enjoy it and then I'm exhausted at the end.

9. I play with my knuckles. I have done this for a very long time. I don't know why but I do it when I'm bored or nervous....etc...

10. I'm naturally a very shy person. I was super, super shy when I was younger. I am gradually trying to outgrow it and I think I'm doing pretty good but I still don't talk much unless I know you really well.

I tag anyone that wants to do it.....

Trip to Texas

I'm finally posting about my trip to Texas!! I had such a great time and Sarah is such an awesome person. Her and James made me feel so at home. I felt just like family!!
In no particular order....
On Friday, we got to visit while the girls took a nap and then they took me to a restaurant called 'Little Mexico'. It was so yummy. It reminded me of Macayos (which I love). That night, we left to the mall to go see Twilight and it was sold out!! It was sold out after being out for two months! Crazy!! So we bolted to another theatre and got there just in time.....and thankfully without getting pulled over. The Grand Prairie police were in full force. They were pulling over like 6 people all in a row and were looking for more;) It was so good to see Twilight again and so fun to see it with Sarah!!
Sarah took me to get a pedicure and it was so nice. I haven't had a pedicure since I was pregnant with J.J. It was a very cute place too!!

We met up with Ashley who is just as cute and funny as I thought she would be. We have only known each other through e-mail and blogs and it was so nice to finally meet her.

A pic of our toesies!! Makenna keeps saying that she loves my flowers (I might have to find a cute place that does pedi's for kiddos for her birthday).

We also had a very yummy lunch at P.F. Changs! I haven't been there probably since we went with Sarah and James;) I don't know why because it is soooo good. What did you order again Ashley? I soooo wish these two girls lived by me!!!! It was so much fun.

Sarah and I also decided to indulge in a mini facial and massage!! Oh my goodness, it was so nice. It was such a pretty place and our massages rocked!! I need to do this more often to remind me why I massage. It is such a good thing to do for your body and to help you relax!! Can't you tell we are in another world???

We also did a lot of driving around so I could see Texas!! This is the new Cowboys stadium being built that I hope the 49ers will be kicking their butt in!! This thing was huge!!!
Miss Aube let me get my baby fix and snuggle with her. She's such a cutie. She calls her Sleeping Beauty doll, Sleeping Dooty!! How stinking adorable!

We watched a lot of movies too. Sarah and I also saw Marley and Me which is so cute but I was glad that I grabbed some napkins with our popcorn because we both needed it;) Prepare to cry but also laugh. I also hadn't seen Mama Mia yet (which Sarah's girls love) and was thoroughly entertained by them both dancing at every song. Aube had to get her tutu on with every song. I guess she can't dance without it. Who could?
Miss Bella singing along with the movie. They also love Phantom of the Opera. It's neat to see little girls having appreciation for music so young.

We got to enjoy some good Texas steak at a restaurant called Saltgrass. They make all their seasonings and sauces from scratch and it was so good.

Right before I left, we went to downtown Ft. Worth to see their cattle 'run'. They didn't go very fast but it was cool to see.
The girls got to ride Pecos Bill!!
And so did I!!! He was such a sweetie and so BIG!! I had a hard time getting up there;) I couldn't quit petting him!

The longhorns are neat to see up close!

Six feet long!!! Crazy!!

It was sad to leave my dear friend. We have been friends since we got married (we got married a day apart) and this distance between us hasn't changed it one bit. I'm so thankful to have such a wonderful friend.
Once I was home, I was happy to be back to see my girls. You don't realize how much your life revolves around your kids until you aren't around them for a bit. Makenna is still saying that she is thankful that Daddy came to get me. She is such a love bug and a Mommy's girl;)
This is the shirt I got for Makenna;)
And I couldn't get a good pic of Jordyn but hers says 'Don't mess with Texas'! I wasn't about to buy Cowboys stuff!! It is against my religion;} Just kidding;)
I got Travis some yummy Dr. Pepper that has imperial sugar in it that is supposed to be so good. I love that you can get Dr. Pepper anywhere in Texas...not just Mr. Pipp;( I also got him a sucker with a worm in it. Only in Texas!!! Gotta love it!!

Two more words and teeth!

So, my Texas post is still in the works. For some reason, I am super tired and I think I'm still on Texas time because I was ready for bed at 10 last night;) But I had to do a quick post about my babies' two new teeth (because I am really using this blog as a journal too) and wanted it documented;) She has been trying to get these four cuspids through for awhile now and I am happy to say that two of them are through and hopefully the next two are on their way. She got her bottom right one on 1/14 and she got her top right one yesterday 1/21. No wonder she was being crankyÜ I was thinking about taking her bottle away but I think I am going to wait until she is done with these teeth since I know it shouldn't be too much longer. I just need to find some good sippy cups that don't leak!!
I also wanted to document a couple new words from my princess. While I was away, she started saying ah-choo. It's so cute. She will sneeze or someone else will sneeze and she will say ah-choo also. She has also started saying Jesus really well. She was saying the first part when she saw His picture but now she says the whole thing. If I ask her who this is (pointing to a picture of Jesus), she will now say Jesus! And if I ask her where He is or say Jesus, she will go to the picture and point!! Love it!!
She also loves our sucker fish. She will watch that guy for a long time and gets mad when I put her down. And her new thing is to dance during the Enchanted movie whenever a song comes on. She comes over and raises her arms in the air and wants you to dance with her. Last night, she danced by herself since Travis and I were both being lazy and she just twirled in circles with a huge grin on her face. I think Enchanted is her new favorite movie. She goes into a trance while watching it and doesn't hear anything around her. She is so stinking adorable!!

My hubby rocks!!

Not only was he awesome to get me plane tickets to see my best friend but he did an amazing job by himself with the girls. He is such a good dad and our girls love him so much. I was expecting to come home, not to a disaster of a house, but not exactly a clean house. Not only was it a clean house but he managed to shampoo the upstairs and downstairs carpet!! He is going to make me look bad;)
I missed my girlies so much. Makenna is so adorable. She kept saying stuff like, "I can't eat lunch until my mommy comes over" or "I don't have a mommy right now". When it was about time for Travis to come get me at the airport, she called Grandma and told her to come over so Daddy can go rescue mommy!! And then when she did come over, she told Travis to go save Mommy! I couldn't get my hands on them fast enough when I got home and Makenna kept saying that she was so glad I came over! I even woke J.J. up cause I had to kiss those cheeks before I went to bed.
I had a wonderful time and it helped me rejuvenate and be a better mom. I will post about my trip later when my girls have detached from my leg.Ü

Again....seriously???

Do I look threatening??? I had to go through the extra check at the airport AGAIN!! I guess I'm just lucky;) The last time I flew I had to do that and I was eight months pregnant!!! Seriously...did they think I was hiding something in there? I feel so stupid too to be the one to get taken out of line to do that air test. I feel like an idiot! Plus, I had absolutely nothing in my pockets whatsoever but they guy said the machine beeped and I had to do it again! Whatever:-)
I'm having a great time.....love ya babe and kiddos!!! I'm off to my massage now;)

I'm off....

I leave for Texas in the morning!! I am so excited to have a girl's weekend with my best friend. I know it will rejuvenate me and help me to be a better mom. I am a big wimp when it comes to my girls though. I don't think I've ever left them overnight before, let alone for 4 days!! But I know they will be in good hands and I know I will be fine once I'm there. My plane better get me there too. That wasn't very nice to see a plane crash the day before I go flying;-) I'm so thankful for a wonderful husband that gave me this gift and wonderful family that helps out with the girls. I've been trying to tell Makenna that I would be going on a trip and she has been really good so far. She just told me to bring Bella back so she could play with her;)
On a couple of side notes, my poor Makenna hasn't stopped saying that she doesn't want to see that lady doctor again! Over and over. I keep telling her that the lady wasn't the doctor but she doesn't get it. The more I think about it, the madder I get so I'm trying not to think about it.
Trav also wanted me to add this pic of his wonderful decorating of his mom's birthday cake! Isn't he mean....but very clever;) He added the twinkie last minute!

And I thought this pic was adorable. Jordyn loves her rocking chair! She looks so big in it!!

Screaming like a mad woman!

I thought Makenna wouldn't like getting her cast off but I couldn't imagine this......

It was hard to watch my baby girl scream in absolute terror. She was petrified! The nurse was not nice at all. She pretty much just came in, told her it was going to tickle and just started going. Um, hello....she's three. You don't just come at a little girl with a noisy machine that looks like it can cut off your leg. I was so mad at her. She even put two little cuts on each side of her leg. And of course that is all Makenna could think about when the doctor came in and she totally freaked out! The doctor said that she did indeed have a crack and that we would have to come back again in six months to make sure that her tibia doesn't grow faster than her fibula since it's getting more blood to it. He also said she would be limping around for a couple more weeks and to give her Tylenol. I thought she would be limping because she was bent up in a cast but it still seems like she is hurting. She didn't want to walk on it at all tonight and that surprised me since she was running with her cast on. She got better towards the end of the night so hopefully she will get the confidence she needs to at least limp on it. I took her potty right before she went to bed and she wanted to walk by herself. I told her I was proud of her and she replies, "See....now I don't have to go back to the doctor!" She does not want to go back so hopefully that gives her the motivation!! He also said she couldn't play at the park for a couple weeks which sucks because I told her I would take her when her cast came off!! I'm so glad the cast is off though. That girl needed a bath so bad and I'm sorry to say it but we didn't bathe her much when she had it on. It was just too hard to keep it dry. I gave her sponge baths but those only do so much;) Anyway, I'm thankful that we got it off of her and I am going to make it a relaxing day for her tomorrow. I leave in two days so I'm just going to enjoy my girls!!

Happy Birthday Mom/Grandma M.

We hope you had a good one!!

Phantom of the Opera!

A-MAZING!! The music was so good! It was so neat to go. Travis' friend Larry plays trumpet in the show and he took us backstage and showed us around a bit. It's crazy how much goes into a show like that. The guy that plays Raoul was a hottie but Larry told us he doesn't like girls! Bummer....o-well! LoL! Anyway, it was a great show. Loved it!!

We got to go out to dinner beforehand which was so nice. We don't get to have a full fledged date very often so this was a luxury for us! I definitely recommend this show!

Makenna in the Sunday paper!

I just love the look on her face;)

Lots of fun!!

So, Jordyn is getting all four of her canine teeth!! You know....the pointy ones. Need I say more;)

I love how little kids talk...

Makenna got the movie 'Bugs Life' (which she calls the ant show) for Christmas and loves it. There are mean grasshoppers in the show and every time they come on, she asks me what they are. Tonight as she is going to bed, she tells me she doesn't want to dream about the hot potters. I said, "what?" She said, "I don't want to want to dream about the hot potters!!" I looked her in the eyes and asked her what in the world are hot potters. She said, "You know....the mean bugs!!" Oh......hot potters!!! Silly me!!

Some cute pics

I was looking through some of my older pics and found some that I had to post.....
Miss Jordyn loves to play with her hair when she is tired now that she has a little in the back.

They found paintbrushes one day and had fun the entire day pretending that they were painting stuff. They painted everything from the fridge to the tub. It was great since there was no actual paint;)

Cute little short stuff hanging off the chair. I tried to measure her the other day and I measured two inches less than the nurse did! So who knows....

Jordyn has started folding her arms when she sees others praying. It is so adorable.

And she loves playing on the little computer. She got in her chair and starting tapping away at it. I had to take a pic!!

I just love my girls. They are so precious to me. Ü

What's going on in our house!

First of all, Miss J.J. has had a mind of her own lately. All of a sudden she has started doing things that she knows she's not supposed to (like touching the tv;) And her favorite new word is "No!!" If we ask her if she wants to go to bed or night night, she immediately says, "NO!!" It's funny now but I'm sure we won't be laughing soon. She has also been waking up alot in the middle of the night and I can't quite figure out why. She also loves the phone. Whenever it rings, she expects to be able to talk to whoever is on the other end and she gets quite upset if she can't. It's hilarious watching her walk around the room jabbering away like she is a little teenager;)

I had to take a pic of this.....it's my wonderful butt whooping of my hubby in Wii bowling!! Notice the seven strikes in a row!!

J.J. playing Wii!!

Makenna playing Wii.

Travis on his birthday, opening up his new blu-ray dvd player that my parents helped me to get!!

He had no idea!! I love my new camera because I would have never gotten this funny expression if it were up to my old camera;) He was so surprised!!

This is Jordyn's new look whenever she sees me coming with the camera. She hates the flash;)

Just cute;)

Trav's cake....Makenna picked out the car's plates for him!

Makenna loves to help blow out candles! And Lady is in the background. It was her 7th birthday on the 31st too;)
Today was Makenna's first day as a Sunbeam!! I can't believe my baby is in primary!!! She did really good. I was so proud of her. She got to make this cute crown and didn't cry at all! I can't say that for the other kids;) Oh, and this is another of Jordyn's new favorite things to do!
And finally, Makenna's cast got old after about a day. She asked if she could take it off that night because it was hard to sleep with. She doesn't get it that I can't just take it off when she wants me to. It is also itching so that is hard. She did, however, start walking on it so that's good. She looked like an old person with a hunchback at first but now she is practically running. And it's so funny sometimes when she is talking fast because she calls it her mask. We also painted her toes a pretty pink from her new Tinkerbell paints (which she loved) so that they would look pretty for church. Hopefully, she will be able to get it off at her next doctor's visit;)
Oh, and I almost forgot.....our refrigerator broke last night. YAY!! It just sucks because it's only three and a half years old! We are praying that it doesn't cost too much to fix. I thought Maytags weren't supposed to break;) Our old one is out in the garage working just fine with all of our crap stuffed in it!

Hot pink!!

We spent two hours last Sunday at quick care because Makenna hurt her leg and we weren't sure if it was broken or not. The x-rays showed that it wasn't broken but she wouldn't walk it on it all week. The weird thing is she will crawl all over on it but she just won't put weight on it. So since she wasn't walking on it, Travis took her to the doctors again to see what was going on. I didn't hear anything from him and next thing I know they are walking through the door and all I see is pink!!! Makenna has a big smile on her face and says, "It's hot pink like the princesses!" She keeps telling everyone that I jumped on her leg which is not true but I think she gets a kick out of saying that. Her leg isn't broken but the doctor figured it's either a bone bruise or just a little crack that doesn't show up on the x-ray. He figured that either way, it might be easier for it to heal if she had a cast on it so she doesn't bang it on something and keeps it stabilized. At least it's not really broken and only has to have it on for a week and a half!! Or at least that is when our next doctor's appointment is;) She sure looks cute though!!

And I just thought this would be a cute pic to add in. She was about 16 months old when she broke her arm. I think this kid is going to be like her daddy;)

Why?

I did an 80 minute massage on a guy today and he slept the ENTIRE time!! Why pay someone to take a nap? ;) I about fell asleep standing up as well!
