And so it starts...

Makenna's first day of many! I can't believe my baby is old enough to go to Kindergarten. It really does boggle my mind how fast time flies. She woke up at 6:15 because she was so excited and soon was telling me her tummy hurt. I'm afraid that this poor girl has her mommy's stomach! I hate nervous tummies:) I tried the best I could to calm her nerves.

Jordyn thought she was going to school as well and had to have a picture taken with her back pack!!

At school!! There were so many people dropping their kids off that we had to park all the way at the end of the parking lot. We got out and Makenna said to me, "I'm ok Mom! I can go by myself!" I don't think so! We weren't anywhere near the Kinder area:) I was happy that she felt so confident though.

In line ready to go in!!

She got a little worried right before she went in. She grabbed onto me when I was giving her a hug and told me not to go!

But she quickly snapped out of it and was waving goodbye to me!!

I was a little weepy but I didn't shed any tears! I just can't believe that it's already time to share my baby with the world.
Jordyn was upset when Makenna left but we got some breakfast at McDonalds and then played at the park. Before we knew it, it was time to pick her sister up!! I'm hoping that her preschool and play dates will keep her busy as well!! :)

Selling yourself short!

(I'm only writing this for journal keeping and to open up conversations if you are going through the same thing....there are a lot more people going through the same thing than I realized and I'm sure there are more that just don't talk about it:)

We have had a lot going on in the last few months. We have been trying to get a loan modification since the end of December. When we bought our house, we got an interest only loan for 10 years which we believed to be smart! Our thoughts were that it wasn't variable so it wouldn't go up and we had 10 whole years where we could refinance, sell or the kids would be old enough where I could work more. Who could have imagined that the economy would tank so badly? Not us...that's for sure! If we could have seen the future, we would have sold our first house, put our equity in savings, rented and then bought a house now! But unfortunately, no one knows what is going to happen in the future except for the Lord! And since we didn't know the future, we are upside down in our house (like most people) and now will not be able to refinance or sell. It totally sucks since we put $90,000 down on this house which is now lost and it's still worth $100,000 less than we owe. Since our payment will go up about $600 in a few years (which is not doable), we decided to try and get it modified now. We really thought everything would work out when we first started the process but we have come to learn that the banks really don't want to work with people. They don't really care that they got all of that money from the government that we, the tax payers, have given them. It truly is a joke. Not a funny joke but a joke! We actually got a great offer back in just a few weeks and it was a doable solution. They had us do a three month trial period with that payment and at the end of that trial period, they would give us a contract and life would go on. If only it was that simple! But alas, banks like to be complicated, unhelpful and greedy. The contract that we received was not what they had given us originally. It was actually a lower monthly payment (and we got excited for just a minute until we realized it had to be too good to be true and kept reading) but they added in a balloon payment of a whopping $55,000 to be paid if we ever sold, short sold, foreclosed or just at the end of our loan. Really? Who has $55,000 just sitting in the bank. Not us. We wouldn't be needing that loan modification if we did....dummies!! So we denied that contract and resubmitted our request. And all the while, we are paying the payment we had agreed upon in the first place! A few weeks go by and we got something in the mail and it showed that the last payment we made was unapplied!! Why in the world would you not apply money that we gave you!! So since they weren't going to apply our payments to anything, we missed last month. We then waited another 6 weeks before we got another message from them stating that since we didn't sign that contract, they aren't giving us any other offer!! What the heck??? So because we won't sign that dumb contract which was totally different from what we agreed upon first, you are no longer working with us??? They are truly idiots!! We would still be paying the full loan amount, just at a lower interest rate!! Isn't that better than selling this home for a lot less money and having to go through all the hassle and paperwork to do so??? I guess....just doesn't seem very smart to me. Travis had even seen on the internet that they were offering mods that said that $10,000 would be forgiven every year until the balloon payment was completely gone. Hellllloooo!! That is soooo doable but they won't do that. It's only for certain people!! Why not give it to everyone??? The president of the bank even said in the article that it would be a win/win for both parties to do that!! Um...yup. So do it!! So, they are pretty much forcing us to short sell. It's pretty much the best thing to do. It doesn't affect your credit as bad or as long as a foreclosure. I was still very worried about the process but after talking to good friends that have already gone through it and a very knowledgeable realtor, I feel so much better about it. He was a member of the church and I just felt a peace the whole time I was listening to him talk. I know that it is going to be alright. I know that this is just the direction that our family is supposed to take right now. It still sucks. I'm not going to lie. But there are pros and cons to everything. I love my house. I love that it is on a cul de sac and I can let my kids ride their bikes and it's quieter. I love my big back yard. I love my three car garage. I do. But maybe there are better things in the future for us. I really don't love our $500 power bills in the summer. I really don't love that my girls' room is very, very hot even with that $500 bill. I really don't love that the builders used kitec plumbing and that we would have to eventually get our plumbing replaced and our walls ripped up which would be a big pain in the butt! I really wish my pantry and closet were a heck of a lot bigger. See....there are pros and cons to everything and I have to really think about the cons of my house so I don't get sad about what I will be leaving. Believe me, I'm not looking for sympathy. We certainly aren't the only ones going through this and we certainly won't be the last ones to either. This is just what is happening to us right now and I wanted to record my feelings. I also wanted to put it out there so that if people wanted to talk about it, they are welcome to talk to me about it. I have gained so much information and insight from talking to other people (thanks Jen!!) and it has helped so much. Information makes the process so much less scary. Knowledge is very important when you are dealing with something like this. We are waiting a few months to short sell because I really don't want to be moving at Christmas time:) I will be very relieved when it is over and can look forward to whatever is in store for our family.

Funnies

Makenna.....

~(Edited to add.....while swimming at our friends Jen and Sheldon's house, I told Makenna that I had to go to the bathroom)...."Mom, just go in the pool! I already did a couple of times!!"

~(standing out in back yard when ants started crawling up her leg)...."MOM!!! The ants are having a party on my leg!!!"

~"So Jesus made the sun right? So then he must have made the throw up in my mouth!"

~(Trav was playing around and pinching me)...."When I get married, my prince will NOT do that to me!!"

~(We told Makenna that we need to get some of her old toys together and give it to kids that don't have any....to which she replied)...."No, let's get our toys together, put them outside and sell them to make some money!!" :)

Jordyn....

~(She was playing with the frog figurine from the Princess and the Frog...I asked her if that was Prince Navine....to which she replied)...." It's not Prince Navine, it's the Princess Frog!!"

~(I called her 'Jor')....."I'm Jordyn, not George!"

Jordyn's first haircut!

My kids start off with such little hair that it takes a long while before they need to get their first hair cuts. Last week Jordyn finally got hers...a month shy of her third birthday:) An old family friend Laura came over to our house and gave all us girls haircuts!

I had Makenna go first so that Jordyn wouldn't be hesitant about it but I don't think she even needed it. She got on that chair and was super excited. She thought she was cool stuff with the cape on. Laura had the cutest capes:)

Getting started!

Jordyn's hair still wasn't very long but it was very uneven in the back and it was just all different lengths. She looks all relaxed in this pic.

Such a good girl. She sat still the whole time and was even better than Makenna;)

Almost done!
All done!! Such beautiful curls!!

Best Friends!!

Mr. Mahler has taken a liking to our Makenna!!

I've always wanted a dog that would sleep with the kids and that would be their dog. We knew that Lady would never do that. She will always be just me and Trav's dog. But even though Mahler was never around kids much, he loves them so much. He was Trav's shadow right when we first got him but he is now Makenna's dog:) He follows her everywhere. If she is upstairs, he is upstairs. If she is downstairs, he is downstairs. If she is outside...well, you guessed it. I decided to try to put him in her room one day to see if he would stay and sleep in their room. I guess the pics tell you that he did!! So dang cute!!

Poor Makenna never gets her bed to herself! Jordyn is always wanting to be on her bed. Most of the time it gets on her nerves and she tries to keep her off but every now and then I see this and it makes me so proud of what a good big sis Makenna is. She is so loving and it makes my heart burst!!
Ya gotta love it when they are asleep. It's so peaceful!

And just another pic of Makenna's dog!! He blends in well with the chair though:)

Noisy heart

It seems that all of my kids' hearts like to make too much noise. I now have had to take all three of my kids to get a heart murmur checked out. Aiden was such a good boy. He just wanted to sit up during his EKG but never cried and he was totally quiet and just chilling during the ultrasound. The doc kept commenting about how good he was being. He said that Aiden made his job way too easy. That's my boy!! It was really neat to see his heart and all four chambers. Plus, you could see the blood turn from blue to red. Awesome! And thankfully, he just has an innocent murmur like his sisters. He just has a noisy Ferrari heart instead of a Lexus!! :)

You're taking my picture again??? Ugh!!

Ok....fine! Take it. (Poor boy has red marks on his chest from his test).

Makenna's new smile!!

Last week on August 10th, our sweet Makenna lost her FIRST tooth!!! It only started wiggling the day before and it came out as we were getting ready for our camping trip. That was quick!! She had just seen the tooth fairy on one of her shows so she was thrilled! We told her that we had to wait a day until we came back though since the tooth fairy wouldn't be able to find us in the woods:)

She put it under her pillow the night we got back and the tooth fairy gave her three dollars!! I took her to the store the next day for a one on one date for school clothes and she picked out a pretty necklace to spend her money on! My baby girl is getting big!!

Roll over!!

And you also found your toes baby boy!! Mr. Aiden rolled over on Saturday, the 14th (his four month birthday!) and the week before he found his toes. It's like all of a sudden he's doing all kinds of things. He loves his toys and tracks so well! Such a cutie pie!!

Silly doggy!

This new dog of ours has gotten very comfortable in our home. He really likes to sleep on the clean clothes that I put on the couch waiting to be folded or anywhere really. We found him sleeping like this! That is one silly doggy! :)

Jordyn Jazz

My sweet little J is so fun!! She just loves her big sister and mimics everything she does. If Makenna does something, Jordyn is sure to do it right after. She also loves to wear her swimsuit all the time!! Even when she isn't swimming or getting wet. She says, "I want my suit back on!" and runs off to find it. I even found her with it on after her nap one day. (She didn't go to bed with it on:) She is a firecracker and can cry and scream at the drop of a hat but I couldn't imagine life without her. I love this sweet girl!!

I absolutely love J's eyes. I tried to capture it on camera but she kept squinting from the light on the flash! This is the best I got!

RAIN AND COOKIES!!

We actually got some rain a few days ago and the girls loved it. They ran around and played outside. It cooled off and made it so it was pleasant to be outside!

Makenna is silly though putting that on her head!

They had those dresses on when they were playing (I really don't know why except that they are silly:) I think they were acting like it was Christmas or something.

We also made some cool cookies recently! Grandma Millett gave us some colored cookie dough so we made some cool things with it. I for one will be the first to admit that I have no creativity so these look weird but it was still fun to do with my girls. The top red thing is supposed to be a flower with leaves. Right beside it is a gingerbread man (we only had Christmas cookie cutters) and under that is a snowman with eyes and a nose by Makenna:) And finally, the lower right cookie is supposed to be Micky Mouse. I did the blue part and Makenna felt like it needed the eyes (complete with eyebrows:), nose and mouth!

Aiden needed to be fed so Trav pitched in and did a couple of these. I think the middle yellow thing is a snake or something like that and the lower right one is a Makenna creation. It's a snowman with rain or snow falling on him:) It was fun!

Mr. Man

Just some cute pics of our sweet boy! He is such a doll. I just love his squishiness and I can't stop kissing him!

He loves looking at himself too....just like his daddy:) JK! (That is a mirror he's looking at)

And of course the girls love him to pieces!! They are very smothering but loving!! :)

New and Improved way of.....

Going potty!! When you just don't have enough time to turn around and sit the right way!

Silly girl!

Almost but not quite!

Little man is trying to roll over!! This is his latest attempt but he just can't get over yet:) I'm ok with waiting though. I like him staying where I put him!

Learning to love the way I am

It seems that you keep more of the weight you put on with pregnancy with each baby that you have. With Makenna, I only had five pounds extra. I wish that was all I had left with Jordyn and now Aiden. But it is not so. The weight likes to stay put the older you get and I've never lost well while breastfeeding which I usually do for a year!! It's like my body holds onto that fat to make sure I have enough to feed them! It really sucks because it would be so much easier if that helped me to lose weight since I do it for so long! I didn't even start trying to lose with Jordyn until after I stopped nursing her because it seemed to be useless. I finally had it all off right before I got pregnant with Aiden:) Go figure. This is the highest un pregnant weight I've had and I can't fit into anything! It sucks but I'm not as obsessed with it as I was before. It's not healthy to put all my worth into what my weight is. Don't get me wrong. I really want to lose weight. I feel better and I like how my clothes fit when I'm thinner. But I'm not going to put all of my self worth into a number. My husband tells me all the time that I look good and that I'm sexy. I never believe him but I'm going to start. If he thinks I'm beautiful, then who am I to argue with him. :) I am just going to try to work out as much as having a young family allows and try to eat healthier options. But I am also not going to deprive myself of yummy food! I am going to strive to lose weight but I'm not going to let it overtake my life. I am learning to love the way I am no matter what size my body happens to be at the moment.

Definitely from the same family!

Travis found some old videos that we had on the computer and we had fun watching our sweet Makenna when she was a baby!! You can definitely tell that my kids are all related!! They all look the same as babies. BALD AND BEAUTIFUL!!!

I'm so mean....I just sit there and video and laugh at my cute little baby while she is stuck. I just thought it was so cute how she got inside the thing! :)

Trav taught Makenna at a very early age how to buzz her lips!! She just might be an awesome trumpet player. I can't believe how young she was when she was doing it!!
Doesn't she look exactly like Aiden??? Crazy!

He loves his girls!!

Our new dog never had playmates in his old home! Well, he does now!! He loves his girls and they love to play with him (Jordyn loves to torment him). Lady is a princess and doesn't want to be bothered but Mahler loves to be involved in everything. I caught him climbing the stairs to get up to the trampoline today to play! It was so dang cute. It's nice to have a dog that wants to be playful and go for rides...not that we don't still love Lady. It's just different:)

Isn't that picture funny? He is such a good dog and he loves to be around us...constantly! We literally have to shove him back into the house when we leave because he wants to go every time we leave. He especially loves going over to Grandma's house to play with the other dogs. I'm so glad we got him fixed because he doesn't try to get with them anymore:) I'm actually thinking about letting him sleep in the girl's room. He goes in and lays on Kenna's bed when I am putting them to bed. What a sweetie!!

5 going on 15

Nickelodeon has been playing little clips of a new boy band every five seconds. I caught the girls singing this on their own and found their video on the internet. They love it and it now graces our ipod. Ahh.....only the beginning:-)

(Please excuse the mess and Jordyn.....we were trying to get cleaned up and that is just how J looks now lately being potty trained. She leaves her clothes off after she goes unless we make her put it back on:)

Water babies!

My girls have been begging to go to a big pool to swim so we decided to take them to the rec center pool. My friend Ashlee was taking her kids there a couple of weeks ago so we went along with her! We had never been but she said it was nice and it really was. It wasn't very expensive and the girls had a blast. And really....that's all that matters, right?
Miss Kenna completely enjoying herself.....of course Trav got the lifeguard in the pic:) They even had a slide that she kept going down along with a rope and tire swing!! You couldn't peel the smile off of her face.

Miss J....I was surprised at how much she loved it!! She didn't want to get out!

There was quite a crowd the day we went. Ashlee said it was half as full the previous week. It wasn't too bad except when some punk boys splashed water right into my face. I wouldn't have been so mad but Kenna was trying to go into the deep water by herself and they got in my way! They should know not to get in a Mama's face when she is going after her young!! It was also salty because they use salt instead of chlorine so it tasted funky:) At least we didn't smell like chlorine though.

Aidy Baidy was just chilling. He didn't like it when we first hit the water since it was pretty cold but he liked it after he got used to it. I sat in the very shallow end with Aiden while Trav went out with the girls and then we swapped. We stayed just long enough to let the girls have a blast and to wear them out!! We got some lunch on the way home and Jordyn was already asleep in the drive thru:)

The sun sure can make you tired!! Gotta love swim diapers that come up to your boobies!! :) Oh man, he's so cute!!
We actually got to go to a friend's house to go swimming last week as well. They were so excited and Makenna kept telling me thank you for taking her and asking when we could go again! They are definitely water babies and we are all getting a nice tan this summer:) Now who wants to invite us over to swim next??? JK:)
