Makenna's list

So obviously I am trying to catch up and blog about all of our Christmas stuff. Here is Makenna's list to Santa Claus this year. She wanted to draw what she wanted and also wrote one out but I don't know where that one ended up:)
She wrote on it (pe) which is supposed to be puppy??? I told her we already have two dogs but she wanted a small puppy! Sorry..Santa couldn't get you that one sweetheart:) The other word is supposed to be scooter:) There is also a table with tea cups on it, a pool and a rainbow castle with a unicorn?? Silly girl! Then she put a barbie on for Jordyn and race track with a race car for Aiden...so cute!! I thought it was a golf club:) Makenna is too funny!!

My tender hearted girlie;)

Travis and I decided to take the girls to see Santa at the mall. Jordyn has been sick for the last three weeks so this was the first chance we had to go. It's Monday morning so I'm thinking that it shouldn't be too busy. Everyone should still be at work, right? Um, not!! First of all, as we were walking in, there were a bunch of pigeons walking around and Makenna was worried that they weren't getting out of the way of the cars. Travis said they were walking fast so they would get out of the way. We get into the mall and there is a line that is three deep. I go....ok.....it will take a little while and so we walk to get to the end of the line. We walked and walked and soon realized that the line was not only three deep but wrapped around to the back of Santa. We looked at each other and said..."heck no!!!" So meeting Santa consisted of us watching him from the side for a couple of minutes and saying, "Phew...it's a good thing we got your letter in to him early! Let's go look at the doggies in the pet store!" It worked and as we were walking back to our car, one of the little pigeons didn't make it across the road and was splattered all over the street. Makenna freaked out and started crying and saying, "He died!!" over and over. We kept trying to tell her that he was in heaven now and that he wasn't hurt anymore. But it didn't help. She just kept crying, "No, the cars aren't supposed to hit the birdies. He died! He died!!!" She had a full blown fit. As we drove away, she said we needed to go back to make sure he gets out of the street and flies away!! Tears were streaming down her face and all I could do was hold her hand. It hurt my heart to hear the hurt in her voice.....for a pigeon!! Finally, (since we were in the neighborhood of Winchells) we decided to get doughnuts and that helped her mood a little. We got lunch and had a doughnut for dessert and tried to keep birds out of the discussion;p

Way-Back Wednesday

I don't know if I was trying to scrapbook these pictures or what but either way, they have pretty paper around them;)

This is my Grandma and my brother was holding me. I think we can see where my girls got their baby chubbiness. Just look at those legs;)

This is before my 1st birthday cake was eaten......

And this is after;)

And finally, this is me and my younger brother. At least we weren't screaming but I don't look thrilled to be thereÜ

Santa's scary!!!

We went to the mall to get the girls picture taken with Santa. I thought Makenna would be good this year since she was older but I guess not! I was hyping it up for her and said that we were going to see Santa and that she could tell him that she wants a scooter for Christmas. She was excited about it until right when I was going to put her on his lap. She clung to me and said, "Santa's scary". I tried to convince her otherwise but to no avail. So we got another crying picture. But that's ok. Jordyn didn't seem phased at all but I'm sure she will be next year. Good times.

Santa's beard was real!! Poor guy looks like he's having fun:)

I thought I would include last years pic for fun. It's even the same Santa. He's smiling in this one.
