Ahhhh!!

I still rock Makenna and sing her a couple of songs before she goes to bed, either for her nap or night time. I just have always done it. Today, my little mother in training did the same for her baby. She told me that she had to put her baby to sleep and it HAD to be upstairs. I followed her up there and peeked on her to see what she was doing. She rocked her baby and sang her all three versus of "I Am a Child of God". Then she put her in her bed and covered her up and said, "sleep good sweetheart". It was so precious. She saw me and then told me to be quiet or I will wake the baby up;)

And I couldn't believe my eyes but Jordyn got into a sitting position from her knees. She has been doing push ups and trying to get up on her knees but not quite getting it yet. So, it totally shocked me when she all of a sudden sat right up from being on all fours!! She was so proud of herself and then proceeded to fall backwards....HARD!! She'll get it though!

Hearts like Ferraris

Today I took both of my girls to a heart doctor to check on their heart murmurs. I was actually pretty nervous about it. I was sure that it was all just to be safe but there is still this voice in the back of your head that says, 'what if'. They both did so awesome though. The nurse did an EKG first and they just sat there and let her do it. It was cute because Makenna got all excited because she got stickers (they put like 10 sticker things all over the chest that they put these plugs on). Next we were off to get the ultrasounds by the doctor. Makenna was first, and even though she had a worried look on her face the whole time, she sat still and let the doctor do his thing. Jordyn was so good too. I was worried about her wanting to roll over and go crazy but she just laid there and held his arm. It was so precious. He was so surprised at how good she was being. It was also neat to see both of their hearts. He showed me everything and explained what we were looking at as we went along. The final verdict was that they have perfect, noisy hearts. His analogy was you have a Mercedes and a Ferrari. The Mercedes' engine is very quiet and the Ferrari is very loud but is the Ferrari no good? Of course not!! Their hearts are just loud....just like them. It fits;)

Mover and a shaker;)

Miss Jordyn isn't crawling yet but that doesn't stop her from getting around. This is where I found her right after I put her down on the carpet!! She does this backwards thing but is now also starting to get on her knees!! I'm not sure if I want her crawling or not;) She also does this adorable dance thing with her head. I don't know how to describe it except that she just shakes her head back and forth. I keep trying to get it on video but she stops as soon as I get the camera out. Little stinker. I'm determined though. It must be recorded!!

Little Angel

Makenna was sleeping real late this morning so I went to check on her. Doesn't she look like an angel with her little hands under her cheek? So precious. And she still didn't wake up when I took her picture.

First Boo Boo

Jordyn got her first boo boo yesterday. She was getting fussy while we were eating dinner so I picked her up and kept her on my lap while I ate. I had a dr. pepper and she kept grabbing for it (she's got taste). She finally got it and sliced her finger on it. I didn't even notice that she cut her finger until I saw blood on a paper towel. She didn't even cry. I guess I will have to keep my sodas out of her reach from now on;)

On a happier note, Jordyn slept 8 straight hours last night. She has been waking up a lot ever since she started teething so that is a huge accomplishment. I'm crossing my fingers for a repeat.

No soliciting!!

So, I am seriously getting a no soliciting sign. For some reason, people decide to ring my doorbell right in the middle of nap time!! Seriously people!! Why are you ringing my doorbell in the middle of the day!! And I never buy anything, or sign anything or even answer the door so they are just wasting their time anyway. And it's not like it's just every once in a while. Different people have come to my door like every day this week and it's driving me insane. It might not be so bad if I didn't have a dog that goes crazy when someone comes to the door but I do!! And then I get so mad at Lady even though it's not her fault they came to the door. Poor baby;) So, a sign is on my list for the next time I go shopping!! Grrrr!

Play Time!!

After a week of working on this thing, we finally have our girls' play set up. I'm sure my hubby (and my parents;) are glad that it is put together. And Makenna is having a ball on her new swings and slide even though she still isn't totally feeling better.
I thought I would show the process of building this thing. It definitely wasn't fun;) There were so many boards to sort and so many bolts and screws that you had to make sure were all there before we even started. Look at the cute little helper in the background.

This is how far we got after the first day.

Smile honey....it's almost done!! Poor guy spent most of the week coming home from work and working here and there on it. I KNOW he's glad it's done. This pic was taken about five days after he started working on it.

Finishing touches.

Can you tell Makenna was excited to get her new swings up. She drug this across the yard when we said it was time to put them up. Her old swing set is in the background.

We put Jordyn's baby swing on so she can have fun too. Those are some happy girls.

Ahh....happy, just ate green beans, face.

It even has a little sand area too. I wondered out loud how I was going to keep her clean with it and Travis joked that she had to get naked to play in it. Well, she heard that and took it literally. Minutes later, she was buck naked ready to get in her sand box. She did it again today too. Silly daddy.

Arrr....I'm too cute!!

I got this cute outfit from a client that turned into a friend. It says Arrr swab me poop deck. So cute....so Vegas!!

And this is Jordyn starting to get on the move. She is going to be moving whether we are ready or not;) It's so funny. She just scoots backwards but every now and then she will try to get on her knees. I can't believe my baby will be seven months tomorrow!!

I haven't posted for a few days because my Kenna and I have had a little stomach flu. It wasn't too bad. Just bad enough to knock you off of your feet and make you feel yucky. This is my poor little girl. This is all she has wanted to do the last two days. I hope I can get her to eat tomorrow!

New blinds!

So, we just recently got new blinds for these pesky windows. They are pretty but they bring in soo much heat that we HAD to cover them. They would also put a spotlight on our kitchen table so we were always shading our eyes while we ate breakfast....total pain in the butt;)

It already feels cooler in that room so I'm sure it is going to help with the power bill. Or at least I hope;) The only thing I will miss is seeing the full moon through them but I will deal with itÜ

Makenna wanted to watch the guy putting them up and after he had been there awhile, she yells, "Daddy, what is THAT man doing in MY house?" It was so funny!!

A bit of random

Jordyn has been practicing her roll over techniques at night for a while now. She has been waking up a lot because I think it surprises her when she does it and it wakes her up. I have been very weary lately because of the lack of sleep and finally last night, she slept all the way through. She slept from 8:30 last night to 7:30 this morning. I had to go check on her when I woke up this morning after I realized that I hadn't been up at all last night. I was so happy and had a wonderful day because I wasn't walking around like a zombie.
*crossing fingers that it wasn't just a fluke and it continues*

Makenna has been wanting to eat Jordyn's baby food lately. I have no idea why but she keeps asking to eat it too. She was begging for her bananas yesterday so I let her have the last bite. Well, this morning, I was feeding Jordyn peas and she asked if she could have some. I knew she wouldn't like it but I couldn't resist and let her have the last bite. The look on her face was priceless. I asked her if she wanted anymore and she quickly let me know that she didn't;)

And seriously, who ordered this wind??? It's so beautiful outside but we can't go out and enjoy it because the wind would knock us over. And not to mention all the congestion and sneezing that we would have to endure the rest of the evening. And of course when the wind stops, it's going to be almost 90 degrees!! Ugh!! So, in order to not have wind, we have to be hot. I'm sure 90 degrees doesn't seem that hot compared to 110 but I'm just not ready for it yet. I love the 70's and 80's. I just wish it would last longer;)

My precious Kenna enjoying the outside. Travis has gotten our yard super nice and she just loves to go out there to eat and just be out. She has a cute little play house that she eats in too and will soon have a new play set. I'm so excited to get that up. She is going to looooove it!!

*On a side note, Sweeney Todd is a kind of a gory movie but has awesome music. Travis just bought the soundtrack. Who knew Johnny Depp could sing;)

Fun dayÜ

I was dreading turning 32 a couple of months ago but today it was no big deal. I realized you are only as old as you feel. Sometimes I feel all of those 32 years and then other times, my children make me feel like a kid again. Experiencing everything through their eyes. I had a wonderful day enjoying my family. I love having my birthdays on Sundays. Since I will never have to go to church as long as they have conference the first Sunday in April, I get to lounge in my pj's for as long as I want to. There is no rushing around. I get to have french toast and bacon that my hubby makes me. And I get to enjoy my family and relax with my kiddos (well kinda....they woke up at 6 and 6:30 this morning...thanks girls;). Thankfully, Travis let me go back to bed for an hour...thanks honey!! It was just a nice day spent with all of my family and eating some good food. And now I am going to go watch a movie and have some popcorn. Tomorrow I will definitely have to workout because I ate a lot!! But I don't care because that is what you are supposed to do on your birthday.Ü

Tony's Broken!!

(She thinks everyone that is in a race car is Tony Stewart;) And then she said, "His wheel broke." I hadn't even noticed it but the wheel goes flying off of the car. That girl sees everything!! She's so cute!!

Living Outside!!

It has been so beautiful lately and we have been outside constantly. I'm so glad that we didn't go straight from Winter to Summer like we usually do. It's actually been a gorgeous spring. Jordyn fell asleep on our bike ride yesterday and this is how I found them when we were done. Makenna is so sweet to her sister and they love each other so much. What a good big sister!!

We stopped by Great Grandma's for her birthday and to have lunch with her. Makenna loves going over there. We need to do it more often;)

Check ups

Wow, this is my third post today. I'm on a roll!! Both of the girls had their check ups today. Makenna's three year one and Jordyn's 6 month. They are almost exactly 2 1/2 years apart. I'm two days off (I tried)!! It was nice and convenient to get them both done at the same time. They are both doing awesome. I can't believe how much my baby girls have grownÜ Makenna is 39 inches tall (88%) and 33 pounds (72%). Jordyn is.....drum roll.......19 pounds, 13 ounces (95%) and 25 1/2 inches long (31%) So, she's still as round as she is tall;) I cannot believe she is almost 20 pounds. She has gained over two pounds in a month!!! I seriously must be making ice cream because I know how to fatten up my babies!! They nurse really well;)

Way-Back Wednesday

I haven't done Way-Back Wednesday for a couple of weeks but I decided I would do it this week and do it in honor of my Grandma whose birthday is today!!

I've posted this picture before but I love it. I think I look like my girls in it. (Including the chunky legs;)

This is in 1980. I'm in the middle with my Grandma and my cousin is on the left and big brother is on the right.

And don't mind my swollen face in this one. This is in April of 2001. This is my Grandma's wedding day and I had just gotten my wisdom teeth pulled. The whole side of my face looked like I was storing nuts. (That is why I turned my face but it still didn't helpÜ)

My poor Grandma has had a rough life. She got married when she was 17 to the love of her life, my Grandpa Clair. He died at the age of 42 of colon cancer and left my Grandma with 5 kids. She was only 34. She was alone for 17 years when she finally got married to her second husband Ken. After 15 years of marriage, he died of colon cancer. Can you believe that??? She quickly remarried to one of her boyfriends from High School, Duane, and he had a stroke soon after. She has been taking care of him ever since. My Grandma is the best and I have no idea why she has had such big trials in her life but she has been a wonderful example to me. She has stayed close to her Heavenly Father and the gospel. I know that my grandpa is waiting for her with open arms. I just hope he has to wait awhile!!
