Pedicures, lunch and great friends;)

I think Makenna's birthday (or rather weekend;) was a lot of fun. I think I will have to blog backwards and start off with today. Instead of a huge party, we opted for some one on one with the birthday girl again and do fun stuff just with her. It is so much fun and so much less stress for the parents. I think I will do a party again when she starts school. So, I will enjoy these times with her now. I love it as much as she does.
Today, I took her to get pedicures with Sarah and Bella. This just happened to be their last day before returning to Texas so they were in town!! It was great that we were able to be with them on her birthday. Bella and Makenna get along so well. I really wish she could play with her more. They were both crying that they wanted to go to the other one's house to play and that they didn't want to leave. It was so sweet.

Anyway, Makenna wasn't too hot on the pedicures at first. She was freaked out about sticking her feet in the water. She kept whining and whining. So, finally I told her to just sit on my lap and we wouldn't stick her feet in the water. She really wanted her toesies painted but didn't want to go through it. Silly girl. She is going to look back on this and laugh;)

Bella was a pro. She sat so well and soaked her feet.

Sarah getting her toes done;)

And Makenna finally getting hers done. The lady was clipping her toenails and she said, "oh, it's just like you do it mommy!"

She gave her a nice little massage. I think she felt silly that she had a fit;)

They are turning pink!!

Getting them dry and finally with a smile on her face!

Our cute curly girls. Sarah made that shirt for Makenna (and one for Jordyn too) and she loves it. She kept saying that she loves her new shirt. I think they are adorable!
Cute little toesies!

Yay for pedicures!

After our appointment, we got some lunch and headed over to Sunset park. They loved watching the ducks and playing on the slides.

I have a pic of this when they were both one.....ahh!

Sarah's mom joined us later with Aube and Bubba (Sarah's brother). They were so cute by the lake but made us all very nervous. They just kept getting way too close. It was a nice big drop.

Kenna and Aube with the fluffiest duck we ever saw;) He loved Aube. He hung out with them for awhile and we didn't even have any food for them.

Cute pic of Aube and Bella and fluffy duck.

Me and Sarah;)

Kenna and Bella....Bella wouldn't look at me;)
We had a great time and I'm so glad that Makenna got to spend her birthday with Bella.
Oh, and she loved her bed. She kept saying thank you and that she was so proud of us. So cute! I will have to post the video tomorrow;)

A most fabulous girls night out

Sarah has been in Cedar City with her family but was able to come back to Vegas for a night to go to Phantom of the Opera with me!! She had never seen it before and it was really neat to see it with her. We started off with a yummy dinner at Lonestar! I love that place but dang their cheese fries!! We were full before we even got our steak;) The show was amazing of course. Sarah got this pic before they yelled at her. I think we had perfect seats. If you are too close up, you have to look backwards to see a bunch of stuff and everything was right in front of us.

After the show was over, we bolted down to the pit to see Travis' friend that plays trumpet for the show. He had taken Travis and me backstage when we were there in January but I didn't think he was going to do that for us. Not only did he do that for us but it was an even better tour! There was a second show the night Travis and I went so he was pretty limited. Not this night!! He took us across the stage and showed us where all the trap doors were and all that fun stuff. Then he took us behind the curtain where all the props were stacked up. We got to take this pic with the mannequins from the masquerade. As we left to go backstage, a couple of the cast (Raoul and Carlotta) passed right by us! He was super cute and she was way short;-}

Then, he took us under the stage to see how everything works. It's amazing all that goes into it. They literally shoot the Phantom onto the stage at the end of the show. They also suck him down at one point. They have pressure tanks that do this and he said he goes for a ride every night. It feels like a roller coaster. That's insane! Then we got to see all the wigs that they wear and Phantom's make up room.
But then the night was still young so we decided to catch a movie. We saw 'He's just not that into you' and it was a really good movie. It was so much fun and I love my Sarah. I wish she lived closer but I'm so thankful that her family lives close so that I get to see her when she comes to visit them:) They just better not move! I get to see her one more time on Makenna's birthday. We are going to take our girls for pedicures and lunch to celebrate. Makenna kept telling me she loved my flower every five minutes when I got my last pedicure with Sarah. So I thought it would be nice to let her get one too. So fun!!

Sarah and her girls

Sarah and her girls came over to play today. They flew in yesterday and we got to spend the whole afternoon today with them. The cute curly headed girls played hard!! They had a great time together. I have so much fun with Sarah and loved her visit. The girls went from playing in the play room to watching Aladdin to playing outside. We had some yummy pizza for dinner and it was hard to get them to eat because they just wanted to play.

There were a ton of ladybugs out in the yard....
and the girls loved looking at them all.

I couldn't get them off the trampoline. They were on and off of it all afternoon.

Miss Aube on the slide.

And best buds.....love ya Sarah....I love it when you are in town;) I can't wait until Wednesday!

Sarah's coming and an update on Makenna's leg!

My bestest friend Sarah is coming into town this week!! I can't wait! I'm going to have to get busy on cleaning my house though;) I have been concentrating on having fun with my kiddos, i.e. bowling, park, etc. but my house doesn't look so hot because of it. I'm glad I did though. Cleaning will wait but my kids will keep on growing before my eyes. We are planning on just hanging out and letting the kids play when she comes. Bella and Makenna haven't seen each other since last Christmas so I'm excited!! We are going to order pizza and visit while the girls play. Especially since they will have just arrived the day before and will probably be tired. Then next week, Sarah and I are going to Phantom of the Opera! She has never been and it's an awesome show! And then I get to see her one more time before she leaves and it just happens to be on Makenna's birthday!! I love that Bella will be here for her birthday and we will definitely be doing some fun stuff. I will eventually be getting to the bowling and park pics sometime this week. Just not tonight.Ü I have to go to the dentist tomorrow for a couple of fillings which I'm not too thrilled about. But it will be over and then maybe I will have the desire to blog;)

And just an update on Makenna's leg. We finally got into her doctors appointment this last week and got approval to play at the playground and do stuff (hence the fun activities from last week). He also said we need to come back in six months to make sure the bones in her leg aren't growing at different rates. We also had to deal with the not so nice nurse again!! She's really shouldn't be in pediatrics. She does not do well with kids. At least the little kids. Maybe she is better with teenagers...who knows. Thankfully the doctor is nice but still!! She does all the x-rays and all the extra stuff. Makenna seriously cried and moped the whole way there because she didn't want to see this lady. My mom and I kept trying to calm her and tell her that we won't let her hurt her (she cut her on both sides of her leg while removing the cast) See here to remember (she screams hot when she was cutting her and I had no idea;( No wonder!) She cried for at least a week and a half after that saying she didn't want to see the mean lady again!! It was so sad. It was horrible making her see a lady that was mean to her. She pretty much freaked out like I thought she would. I told the nurse that she pretty much traumatized her and that she cried about it for a week and a half afterwards because I wanted her to know that she was mean. The nurse just chuckled and said, "yeah, some kids take it different. Some kids say it tickles." Um.....no lady!!! You came at her with a saw, gave her no warning or explanation for a little girl and cut her twice and you expect her to say it tickles?!?!?! I was just like whatever! And then we go to take the x-ray and I had told Makenna that she can take her Woody doll with her and he will help her. Well, we get back there and Makenna freaks out because we forgot her Woody. I said, "Oh, hang on, we forgot Woody!" She snottily remarks, "there can't be anyone else in the radiation room!!" Um....it's her doll!!! First of all, I came with two females....my mom and Jordyn and second I wouldn't name my son Woody so who the heck do you think I was talking about??? Weirdo!! Anyway, we got Woody and we finally got the x-ray and the go ahead to play. And needless to say we have been playing a lot which I will have to blog about soon! And I'm happy to say that we won't have to see that mean lady for six more months!!!

Trip to Texas

I'm finally posting about my trip to Texas!! I had such a great time and Sarah is such an awesome person. Her and James made me feel so at home. I felt just like family!!
In no particular order....
On Friday, we got to visit while the girls took a nap and then they took me to a restaurant called 'Little Mexico'. It was so yummy. It reminded me of Macayos (which I love). That night, we left to the mall to go see Twilight and it was sold out!! It was sold out after being out for two months! Crazy!! So we bolted to another theatre and got there just in time.....and thankfully without getting pulled over. The Grand Prairie police were in full force. They were pulling over like 6 people all in a row and were looking for more;) It was so good to see Twilight again and so fun to see it with Sarah!!
Sarah took me to get a pedicure and it was so nice. I haven't had a pedicure since I was pregnant with J.J. It was a very cute place too!!

We met up with Ashley who is just as cute and funny as I thought she would be. We have only known each other through e-mail and blogs and it was so nice to finally meet her.

A pic of our toesies!! Makenna keeps saying that she loves my flowers (I might have to find a cute place that does pedi's for kiddos for her birthday).

We also had a very yummy lunch at P.F. Changs! I haven't been there probably since we went with Sarah and James;) I don't know why because it is soooo good. What did you order again Ashley? I soooo wish these two girls lived by me!!!! It was so much fun.

Sarah and I also decided to indulge in a mini facial and massage!! Oh my goodness, it was so nice. It was such a pretty place and our massages rocked!! I need to do this more often to remind me why I massage. It is such a good thing to do for your body and to help you relax!! Can't you tell we are in another world???

We also did a lot of driving around so I could see Texas!! This is the new Cowboys stadium being built that I hope the 49ers will be kicking their butt in!! This thing was huge!!!
Miss Aube let me get my baby fix and snuggle with her. She's such a cutie. She calls her Sleeping Beauty doll, Sleeping Dooty!! How stinking adorable!

We watched a lot of movies too. Sarah and I also saw Marley and Me which is so cute but I was glad that I grabbed some napkins with our popcorn because we both needed it;) Prepare to cry but also laugh. I also hadn't seen Mama Mia yet (which Sarah's girls love) and was thoroughly entertained by them both dancing at every song. Aube had to get her tutu on with every song. I guess she can't dance without it. Who could?
Miss Bella singing along with the movie. They also love Phantom of the Opera. It's neat to see little girls having appreciation for music so young.

We got to enjoy some good Texas steak at a restaurant called Saltgrass. They make all their seasonings and sauces from scratch and it was so good.

Right before I left, we went to downtown Ft. Worth to see their cattle 'run'. They didn't go very fast but it was cool to see.
The girls got to ride Pecos Bill!!
And so did I!!! He was such a sweetie and so BIG!! I had a hard time getting up there;) I couldn't quit petting him!

The longhorns are neat to see up close!

Six feet long!!! Crazy!!

It was sad to leave my dear friend. We have been friends since we got married (we got married a day apart) and this distance between us hasn't changed it one bit. I'm so thankful to have such a wonderful friend.
Once I was home, I was happy to be back to see my girls. You don't realize how much your life revolves around your kids until you aren't around them for a bit. Makenna is still saying that she is thankful that Daddy came to get me. She is such a love bug and a Mommy's girl;)
This is the shirt I got for Makenna;)
And I couldn't get a good pic of Jordyn but hers says 'Don't mess with Texas'! I wasn't about to buy Cowboys stuff!! It is against my religion;} Just kidding;)
I got Travis some yummy Dr. Pepper that has imperial sugar in it that is supposed to be so good. I love that you can get Dr. Pepper anywhere in Texas...not just Mr. Pipp;( I also got him a sucker with a worm in it. Only in Texas!!! Gotta love it!!

I'm off....

I leave for Texas in the morning!! I am so excited to have a girl's weekend with my best friend. I know it will rejuvenate me and help me to be a better mom. I am a big wimp when it comes to my girls though. I don't think I've ever left them overnight before, let alone for 4 days!! But I know they will be in good hands and I know I will be fine once I'm there. My plane better get me there too. That wasn't very nice to see a plane crash the day before I go flying;-) I'm so thankful for a wonderful husband that gave me this gift and wonderful family that helps out with the girls. I've been trying to tell Makenna that I would be going on a trip and she has been really good so far. She just told me to bring Bella back so she could play with her;)
On a couple of side notes, my poor Makenna hasn't stopped saying that she doesn't want to see that lady doctor again! Over and over. I keep telling her that the lady wasn't the doctor but she doesn't get it. The more I think about it, the madder I get so I'm trying not to think about it.
Trav also wanted me to add this pic of his wonderful decorating of his mom's birthday cake! Isn't he mean....but very clever;) He added the twinkie last minute!

And I thought this pic was adorable. Jordyn loves her rocking chair! She looks so big in it!!

Happy 7th Sarah and James

I just wanted to wish our good friends a Happy Anniversary because they live far away and I wanted them to know we are thinking of them. You are such awesome friends and I think it's so cool that you got married the day before we did. We've gone through our marriages together and now we both have two beautiful girls. We are thankful for your friendship and we hope you have a wonderful day;)
