Some of my thoughts

A few days ago, a pizza delivery driver was shot and killed not too far from here. This hit a nerve with me because I used to deliver pizzas. And to top it off, this man was putting himself through massage school which is what I was doing 10 years ago. It made me realize how dangerous the world is and how stupid people can just turn it upside down in an instant. It made me realize how blessed (even though I was undeserving of it at the time) I was while I worked this job. I never had anyone come up to me and steal my money. The only major problems I had in the whole four years that I did this job was some retard exposed himself in front of me and I also had my pizzas stolen. They had called with an address that was an empty residence (just like this guys) and lurked there until I realized that no one was at this apartment. They blocked my way and yanked the pizzas from my hands and took off running. They never asked for my money but I was pissed that they did that to me. I even tried to hang on to those dumb pizzas and struggled with them for a minute. How stupid that was and how worse things could have been. And it wasn't like there wasn't anyone that got robbed at my store. Lots of people did but I personally never did. I always thought that it was because I was a girl but now that I'm thinking about it, I know that I was being watched over. I had to go to some pretty shady areas, namely Civic Center and Cheyenne (much worse than this murdered man) and I had no problems. It was pretty scary but I feel so blessed that I never had any issues. I hope the guys that shot this man get found because they need to rot in jail!!

And another thing I've been thinking about is how nonchalant people are about abortion these days. Like it's no big deal!! Especially late term abortion (which Obama totally supports) when there is a chance that the baby can survive. I don't know how that can't be perceived as murder. And I can't understand why they don't just give birth and give the baby up for adoption to couples that are desperate to have children if they are that far into the pregnancy! It boggles my mind. Travis and I would have been that couple if our IUI's didn't work. We didn't have (nor have now) $20,000 to spend on InVitro. Our only other option would have been adoption. I recently saw this AD that was put out by catholicvote.org. It is awesome!! Click on it and view. It's only 41 seconds. The best part about it is there is no argument that anyone can say against it!! JMO!!

Anyway, I have just been thinking about how precious life is and feel very blessed to have the family that I have.

Not trying to start a debate – I totally agree with what you’re saying – but, I just want to say (from close experience), that a woman who considers abortion never considers adoption. I don’t know why. It’s a selfish thing. In their mind – it’s either “my baby or no one’s baby”. So – basically the only options the unborn child has is to die, or to be kept by an unfit mother.
I’m even more extreme than most though. I don’t understand why there are so many women with that mindset who are fertile – and so many wonderful women who are not. That’s what makes me the most angry!
I also understand what you mean about your safety. We often don’t realize how closely we’re being watched/taken care of until after the “event”.

We had some places that we weren't allowed to deliver to after dark when I worked for Dominos. A lot of our business was on the southern half of the strip, so that was safer than some of the places I could have delivered to. I can't believe the dude was shot, though. Why can't they just take his pizza and money and go? Take his car even.

In Young Women we gave a lesson about abortion and how wrong it is. We told a story from the point of view of the fetus. The women who do that to a child will have to face the Lord and the child they killed someday. I wouldn't want to be them. Children are special to the Lord. So very special. I worried about you while you were out delivering. I am so very thankful the Lord kept you safe.

That's crazy that the guy got shot! Thats one of the reasons I never watch the news...I can't stand stories like that, they are just too sad!

And the whole abortion issue just goes to show the way our society is these days. That is can be so casually thought about to end a life. I understand that there might be "special circumstances" but that doesn't make it right in any sense.
