I went to feed the fish this morning and as I was peering over the top to make sure I don't put too much food in, they splashed me right in the face!!! They've splashed me before but not right in the face. And I wasn't even late in feeding them. They are just turning into fatties and want their breakfast, I guess. Stinkers!!
Then, as I was pushing the girls on their swings, I got distracted and Jordyn's foot connected with my lip and front teeth! It was totally my fault and it is a cute little chubby foot so all is forgotten;-)
I have also relearned the lesson of not putting crayons outside when it's over 100 degrees outside. In my defense, the house was providing some nice shade when we were coloring!! But I just didn't think about it and left them out there all afternoon. This is what we found when we came out to play after naps. A big fat yucky mess!! Makenna is totally upset about it but I just keep telling her that we have tons more crayons in the drawer.
And finally, I officially started my diet again. I really don't want to because I just love food. I've been exercising like crazy and while I can tell my muscles are changing, I still have a layer of fat over those nice muscles. And with summer around the corner and our trip in two months, I wanted to be able to show those nice muscles. I also wanted to give myself more of a reason to do it too. I figured if I wrote it down for everyone to see, then it might give me more of an incentive to do it. I guess we shall find out!!

Trying to get back on track
I have really been trying to get back on track with my weight loss. It's just not happening. I gained some back and that really aggravated me. At first I thought it was some bloat but I don't think that now;) And it's so weird because my scale says a different number than my Wii fit. I really didn't care about the number. I just wanted to feel good but it's both right now. Ugh! I am really just lacking the motivation right now. I know that once I start back up again and get past that first week, I will be fine. It's just getting there. I usually start my day off great and then somewhere after lunch it goes downhill. And then I figure, I've already had a bad day so I might as well enjoy;) Another problem is it's been too cold to bike ride. I could always count on that daily hour of exercise and I haven't been getting it. I've been trying to do my Wii fit more often and that has been really good but then I go a few days in between doing it. I tried this new dvd tonight that my hubby got me for Christmas and it's awesome!! It's the Tae Bo fat busting cardio one. I have like six Tae Bo's now and I've pretty much mastered most of them so I wasn't thinking this was going to give me anymore of a workout than the others. I was wrong!! It busted my butt. It was go go go the whole time and I feel so good after doing it. I will definitely have to try to add that into my routine a couple times a week and hopefully I can start to see that scale going the right way again;)
Jordyn was watching me do the workout and she wanted to do it too. It was a lot cuter right before I started recording but this is still cute!!

What I'm doing
I had a couple people ask what I'm doing to lose the weight. All I am doing is trying to keep my daily calories at 1200 and I don't count my fruits and veggies. I don't eliminate anything. If I want chocolate or a burger, I eat it. I just have to add those calories into my daily count so I may not be able to have much else if it is a lot. I don't count fat grams (but I do try to pick stuff that is low) or calculate things. All I do is add! I know that if I tried to not eat certain stuff like breads and sugars that I wouldn't stay on it. I don't know why people take bread out of their diets anyway. It's good for you and my whole wheat bread is only 70 calories a slice. I can have a turkey sandwich with light mayonnaise and mustard for only 235 calories. Coke Zero is my friend. I love the new vanilla and cherry kinds and I try to drink tons of water. I have also been looking online for low calorie dinners. That is the issue that I have right now. I can have my lean cuisines for lunch but I have a hard time figuring out dinners that will be low for me but yummy for my family. I found this one recipe for Ham and Potato soup that I made last night that is only supposed to be 198 calories per serving. I'm sure that is for a small serving but I figured even if I had a big bowl and doubled it, it would still be low and it was soooo yummy! I also bike ride with my mom while pulling 55 pounds of kids or do my Tae Bo every morning and do hand weights two or three times a week. I also have a free day every Saturday. That's when I eat things like pancakes, maybe a Big Mac and M&M's. It keeps me good during the week. I can be good because I know I only have so many days before I can eat whatever again. I don't go too crazy but I do enjoy that day. Anyway, that's what I'm doing and I hope that it will keep working!!

Progress
Well, it's been a whole month since I started my diet and I've lost a total of 11 1/2 pounds. I have definitely started to see the difference. My clothes are fitting better and I wore a skirt to church on Sunday that I haven't been able to get into in a very long time. I can also tell my honey is noticing;) My goal is to get to 15 pounds by Thanksgiving. I will then be at my weight before I got pregnant. Then I will try my hardest to enjoy the holidays without gaining it all back. After that, I will try for some more. (Well, I will always be trying for some more;) I'm so excited to see progress and I feel so much better about how I look.

Diet
My blogger friend Ashley has been on a diet and losing big time so she inspired me to start one of my own. It has been a week since I started my diet and I have to say that I'm shocked at how many calories are in everything. I felt like I was going to be fighting a losing battle in the beginning. I was sooo hungry but it got alot better once I started finding different foods that are good and low in calories. I have been eating a lot of fruits and veggies and snack on beef jerky (only 20 cal a stick) and I got those 100 calorie packs of cookies or the weight watcher cookies and cakes if I need a sweet treat. I also am not going to waste my calories on liquid so it's water or diet soda for me. I have been keeping it at 1200 calories a day but also giving myself a kind of cheat day on Saturday because we always have pancakes with the kids and I don't want to watch them eat;) I am going to try to find some low calorie pancake stuff for me that doesn't taste like cardboard. Any suggestions? My mom and I have also been bike riding for 5 1/2 miles every morning while pulling 50+ pounds of kids behind me half of the time and I have been doing some hand weights at home. All in all, I am very proud of myself since I have never been on a diet in my life. I have always just exercised it away but this fat is being very stingy and doesn't want to leave me. I guess that's what happens when you get older;( But I am happy to say that I lost 4 pounds this week!! I lost 1/2 inch in my tummy and 1 inch on my thighs. I can't really see a difference but I can feel the difference. It was tough but so worth it and definitely a good start!! I just hope I keep it up;)

One of those days
It started out good. We went bike riding. Jordyn went down well for her nap so I was able to take a shower without her screaming at me. I did some weights with Makenna (she likes to mimick me so she was doing squats right with me). And then off to my presidency meeting. That's when it started going downhill. The kids went crazy. Makenna pretty much tornadoed through the house while I'm trying to listen and discipline at the same time (which is not easy) and Jordyn kept screaming because she couldn't push this doll stroller where she wanted it to go and then wanted to go outside when the other girls did. I wasn't about to let my one year old play outside where I couldn't see her but when she sees her sister go outside, she has a one track mind. So that led to a screaming fest and of course she didn't want me to hold her either like she normally does and when I could have easily done so since I was just sitting at a table. No, she wants that when we get home while I am trying to get the house cleaned up. She is having a major dose of separation anxiety. She hates it when I go to work. She clings to me and won't even let me go to the bathroom. I'm also cranky because I started a diet today because unfortunately I can't lose weight with just exercise alone! Crap!! And I hate to diet. But thankfully they went down for their naps very well so instead of cleaning the house and folding three loads of laundry, I'm sitting here on the computer and contemplating a nap of my own. How in the world am I supposed to keep up with all those cool crafty moms and do scrapbooks and fun stuff like that when I can't even get motivated to get organized and clean. It's not even that dirty but it's dirty to me. I don't even have my Halloween decorations out!! I'm just having a self pity day and I really need to prioritize what is really important!
