I went into this movie with an open mind. We all have different imaginations and I was curious as to how they pictured this book. I have to say that I thought it was great. It started out slow but so did the book so you can't really blame the movie for that. I really liked the actors (except for Jasper....he looked very odd, but that was also the point) I loved the Dad too!! He was so funny. He reminded me of my Dad. He loves his daughter but is very quiet. It was hilarious when he gave Bella the pepper spray and was working on his rifle when he met Edward. They were all very beautiful and the scenery was amazing!!! I am going to have to visit my friend Tabatha that lives in Oregon. That was just a whole lot of green!! Loved it! I also tried to go in with a youthful view as well. There were many teenagers around me squealing with delight. At first I rolled my eyes but then I smiled. A mother and her daughter (with friends) sat in front of us and I could picture me sitting with my girls when they are teenagers doing something similar to this. I thought it was great. It also reminded me of when I took my little sister (who is 9 years younger than me) to a Backstreet Boys concert years ago. Yes, I felt too old and out of place but I didn't let that make me not enjoy it. I feel the same about this movie and I enjoyed it.

You felt old! How do you think I felt! The scenery certainly made you want to move out of the desert! Absolutely Gorgeous!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. You're the first person I've come across who really seems to have liked it quite a bit. I really wanted to, but it was just too low budget for me I guess. It just seemed really cheesy and I didn't feel the Bella and Edward connection. I still love Twilight though.
I have to agree with you, Krista! I thought it was fantastic for what it is...a movie! Something to just sit back and chillax and ENJOY! You can't expect to get some uber-epiphany out of movies...that's what books are for!!
I thought they picked just the right actress for Bella, and Edward...ooobaby! ;) The love-tension between them was great! Very, very close to in the book where you can tell he is absolutely in love with her!
They did a great job shoving a 500+ page book into 2 hours! I can't wait till the next ones come out!
And I'm excited for a trip to Oregon/Washington one day! We should take a girls vacation and go up there and explore! Wouldn't that be fun!
Stephenie Meyer sitting in the cafe was very Stephen-King-like....I hope she makes appearances in them all!
Love ya! Wish we could have enjoyed this together!!
I was disapointed at first. Bella stutered too much for me! But I have seen it 3 times now and enjoy it.
I'd have to agree with Yvonne. The film seemed too low budget leaving a lot more to be desired in special effects and in acting. The movie seemed more comical to me than anything else. Oh well. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I keep hearing mixed review on it.
Thanks Lisa, you always understand :) I love Twilight and I will definitely watch all the sequels, I just wanted to share my take. I wasn't trying to start some kind of uproar!!!
Um...what uproar? Sarah just agreed with me and Lisa agreed with you. You can't expect everyone to like the same movie. Everyone has their own opinions. I don't know what you were expecting though when you say low budget. It's not going to be a 'Mission Impossible' type of movie. I think they did a good job for the teenage love story they were trying to portray. A lot of people in my theatre even clapped.
The movie was definitely made with teenagers in mind and they loved it. At least in our theatre they did. So they accomplished their objective.
I agree with Yvonne & Lisa, I laughed in parts that shouldn't have been funny. Bella going crossed-eyed when writhing in pain from the venom was hilar! And when Edward was running with Bella on his back, the special effect was sub-par, if they didn't have the money in the budget to make it look somewhat believeable they just should have left that out.
Anyway, I am very glad that a lot of people were still happy with it because that means they will put the rest of the books into film & will, hopefully, have a bigger budget to work with! :0)
P.S. I really loved Charlie's character in the movie too!
I thought the movie was entertaining! I wasn't expecting it to be anything more then it was so I enjoyed it. Seems like most people didn't...too bad for them!!! I must have skipped alot of the book when I was reading it cus I thought they did great but I keep hearing they left alot out. I thought the added humor was perfect!! I think it was well done, for what it was!!
i didn't care for it too much. doesn't mean i didn't like the book or that i'm no longer a fan or that i'm not gonna watch new moon...i'm so there!the night was a blast and the laughter was great. the experience of it all is what made the movie for me. sometimes that's all that matters. so hopefully with all the money that was made, new moon will be better. that's just my opinion though:)
Hey Krista! I loved the movie! I squealed with the teenagers sitting next to me just because they looked like they were having fun and yes it was fun to let loose every time Edward came on the screen. ;) I HATED who they cast for Jasper...what kind of hairdo was he sporting?! Yuck!
