Play Time!!

After a week of working on this thing, we finally have our girls' play set up. I'm sure my hubby (and my parents;) are glad that it is put together. And Makenna is having a ball on her new swings and slide even though she still isn't totally feeling better.
I thought I would show the process of building this thing. It definitely wasn't fun;) There were so many boards to sort and so many bolts and screws that you had to make sure were all there before we even started. Look at the cute little helper in the background.

This is how far we got after the first day.

Smile honey....it's almost done!! Poor guy spent most of the week coming home from work and working here and there on it. I KNOW he's glad it's done. This pic was taken about five days after he started working on it.

Finishing touches.

Can you tell Makenna was excited to get her new swings up. She drug this across the yard when we said it was time to put them up. Her old swing set is in the background.

Woo Hoo! Look at her go;)

We put Jordyn's baby swing on so she can have fun too. Those are some happy girls.

Ahh....happy, just ate green beans, face.

It even has a little sand area too. I wondered out loud how I was going to keep her clean with it and Travis joked that she had to get naked to play in it. Well, she heard that and took it literally. Minutes later, she was buck naked ready to get in her sand box. She did it again today too. Silly daddy.

All done!! Looking good!!

Thanks for helping us build it Grandma and Papa;)

It was a difficult project but I have to say, I think the hardest part was moving all of the rocks that were in that area. Dad guessed it was about ten tons of rock. So add that onto Travis' week of work and I think that man deserves a massage!

Oh how fun! I can't wait to get a play set in the yard!

Looks like this was a lot more work than putting together the kitchen. I love how you can slide right into the rocks.

We were looking at that same play set on Saturday. We are probably going to get that one or one similar to it. I am not excited to know how hard it is to put together. What's one more project? :) Your girls look like they were having so much fun!

Yeah, we need to do something with that bunch of rocks too. It just wasn't going to get done right away. We need to get a bunch of mulch or something. They have had a blast with it though.

Looks fun! I saw chopped up old tires for sale at Walmart in 10 pound bags, those are supposed to be really good for play areas.
