Makenna's first lesson

Miss Makenna got a pocket trumpet for her birthday and she was beyond excited!! She had been begging her Daddy for lessons so he decided to get her a small trumpet that she could hold easily.

This is Makenna waiting "patiently" for her lesson:) I was videoing her for the whole beginning so I didn't get too many pictures of just her and her Daddy. This was after she had learned five notes and was practicing. Aiden decided he needed to get in on the action too:) Babies always think they need to eat the trumpet:) Lady always thinks she needs to be in the pictures too...lol! Makenna did an awesome job. Trav said she gets better tone than some of his students!! I'm so excited for her! She looks so cute:)

Little stinker

This little dude is getting into EVERYTHING!!! He loves to turn on the faucet to my tub constantly while I'm trying to get ready in the morning. He will also have all the drawers under the sink pulled out and whatever was in it would be out on the floor. He is always trying to climb the stairs and just broke one of our lamps the other day. He went over to shake it and as I was going over to stop him, he fell backwards. It was like a slow motion thing and I just barely didn't catch it. It smashed all over the floor and scared the crap out of him. He hasn't been back to it but that doesn't help the lamp now:) I am chasing this guy all around the house but I love it!! He has such a funny personality and makes us laugh all the time!!

He makes this face to us all the time and it's hilarious!!! This has been the best picture that I can get of it so far. He closes his eyes and makes this cheesy smile at us. Love it baby boy!!

He's also gotten quite a bit of teeth since the last time I documented. He has a total of eight now. Four on top and four on bottom!! He got his second top left tooth on Feb. 8th, his second bottom right tooth on Feb. 22nd. He also got his second top right tooth on March 1st and his second bottom left tooth came on his 11 month birthday on March 14th!! He also stood for the first time on Febuary 23rd!! He can stand for a good minute but gets tired of it quickly. I try to practice with him but after a couple of tries, he will make his legs like jelly and won't put his legs down at all. Silly boy! He hasn't tried to take steps yet. He will just fall toward the person next to him but cruises the furniture like nothing else:) We love this baby boy so much and have had so much fun watching him grow this past year. I can't believe that he will be one year old in just a few short weeks!!

My friend did this on her blog for her daughter's birthday recently and I thought it was cute! I asked Makenna these questions while we waited for the movie to start on her birthday:)

Funny Boy!

Somebody was ready to go to Grandma and Papa's and took over Makenna's chair. We have to drag him out of it every time we get in the car. He thinks it's his seat...lol! :)

Six year old Princess

.....this in the blink of an eye!!!

I can't believe it's been SIX whole years since this beautiful baby girl joined our family!! She is such a sweet, sensitive little girl and is so loving to her siblings and family. She is also very active and friendly to everyone. Makenna will talk anyone's ear off that will listen to her:) She is doing very well in Kindergarten and amazes me how smart she is. She is the tallest one in her class (including the boys;) and everyone loves her. We are so thankful for Makenna and her sweet spirit in our home.

Ballet and tap

My girls have been doing ballet and tap for awhile now!! They love it but this is the last session that both Makenna and Jordyn can be in the same class and I'm not sure if I want to put them in two different classes. Jordyn loves to have her sister in there with her. Sometimes it gets her in trouble and sometimes it helps her to be confident. I absolutely adore the way Jordyn puts her hands on her hips. It's so cute!! And Makenna is always in the front of the class showing everyone else how to do things.

The parents get to go in at the end of the session and they do a little dance for us. I tried to upload the video but after 3 1/2 hours, I gave up!

My sweet sensitive little girl!!

Just a few minutes ago, I went into Makenna's room because she was crying. She told me that she had a bad dream. I held her for a minute and then asked her what the dream was about. She said that they killed Jesus!!! I said, "what???" and she said..."Remember.....they put those things in his hands and feet!! I learned it in Primary!!" Makenna then started balling. I held this sweet child in my arms and wiped her tears. She then asked if He was ok. I said of course He is and that He is in Heaven. She said that she wanted to die then so she could be with Jesus and Grandma Great. I told her that I would be so sad and that she couldn't leave me to which she replied that we can just die together. I said that we can wait a long, long time and that she had to grow up and get married and have kids first. Grandma Great did all that too. She even had Great Grandkids like her! She then said she remembered this show that had Jesus in it (but didn't have curtains;) and that it had trees and grass and Jesus was on fire like a star. I swear this girl has some memory! She is talking about the Hill Cumorah pageant that we went to almost two years ago in New York when she was four!! She asked to go back so that we can see Jesus again and also see Grandma Great!! Wow....what an impact that pageant had on her. How amazing to be a child and really think that you were looking right at Jesus!!! I love this girl!!

Makenna's first Nascar Race!

Nascar was in town this past weekend and Trav got free tickets through the school district. He ended up getting four so we decided to take Makenna with us. She begged to go last year and she was so excited to go this year! We always get there really early to avoid the crazy traffic that comes with 140,000 people going to the same place. We drove right in and had plenty of time to check out all the cool things that they have on display. Tony's car was the one Chevy that you could take your picture with:-)

Makenna also got those beads from someone and she wore them as a sash:)

We also checked out the Dodge area where they were giving people crazy rides. They were squealing and burning rubber. It really stunk:) Right when we got there, home town boy Kurt Busch was talking to the crowd.

He was Joe's favorite driver last year but not anymore since he had to change from the #2 car:)

Us in the stands!! We were really close...only 15 rows up. We even got black marks on our faces from all the rubber:) Oh, and Trav got a pink face too...lol!

Makenna was very impatient. She wanted all the action to start right when we got there but we had to wait a bit since we got there so early. But I would much rather wait there than in the car:) Once they started racing, she loved it!!

Crazy girl!!

This was the start!! Tony is the first white one on the inside line next to the bright yellow one...Kurt Busch:)

Tony was in the lead for most of the race!!! It was great!! He ended up coming in second because of a messed up pit stop which stunk. He totally should have won!! We left early so that we wouldn't have to sit in hours of traffic. We ended up getting home in 10 minutes and watched the end of the race at home!! It was great!! :)

Getting irritated!!

I have a lot to post about but blogger won't let me post any pictures. I have no idea what to do. It lets me put it in the box but won't let me add them. It's very frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!

Makenna had a ton of fun dressing up her poor brother. She even put a crown on him. Trav's sisters did the same thing to him so 'like father, like son', I guess:)

Ahhhhhhh......Now, that is just sweet!! Aiden gives her loves all the time! This time he's probably doing it in hopes she will take the dress off:)
