Scratching the itch!!

It's our 7th wedding anniversary and I'm so thankful that I married this man!! And to think it all started with a dream. Nine years ago, I had a dream about Travis out of the blue and I couldn't get him out of my head. Throughout the morning, a voice in my head kept telling me to call him and I kept telling it NO!! I had only seen him twice since we graduated, at his farewell and when he spoke at my friends church. I kept telling myself that it would be crazy to call him. But that voice wouldn't go away so I finally caved in. I called him and we got together a couple of days later to catch up as FRIENDS!! I think we both went "Wow" at each other when we saw each other for the first time in a few years. He had gained some weight and I had lost some (about 30 pounds). We had a ton of fun and talked for hours before he left for the night. He called me everyday after that and by the end of the week, we both knew it was going to be more. (He always says I chased after him but he did all the calling. I only did the first one;) Anyway, it was neat dating someone that I had known half of my life and had so many things in common with. It was so easy. I already knew his family and he knew mine. Our moms had even served in the young women's presidency together;) Our friendship was old but this relationship was definitely new. He had grown from a skinny teenager to a handsome man and had matured a lot from his mission. We dated two years before we got married but I think we both knew we would always be together.

All in all our wedding day went very smooth. There were only a few blunders leading up to it. I fainted getting my dress fitted and fell right on the seamstress. I had never fainted before but I think I just got real hot. Also, the church got double booked so there were people in the gym watching a movie when we were supposed to decorate. Everyone was waiting out in the hall talking about coming back in the morning (the actual wedding day) and I was not going to have that. I marched right in there and asked them to move to a different room which they thankfully did. My mom was still sewing my sister's dress and my dad was fixing his breaks to his truck the morning of my wedding. Plus, my hairdresser was late and we couldn't find my flowers for the reception for the longest time. I guess there were quite a few things now that I am writing them down but it really wasn't that bad.

Everything was forgotten once he came to pick me up. We drove to the temple in awe just enjoying the moment. It was hot and very windy but also overcast so it was nice. It was amazing once we were at the temple. I'm normally a very nervous person but I couldn't believe how calm I was. President Ense married us and it was so neat. He wasn't even supposed to be the one to do it but I'm so glad that he did because he did an incredible job. He told us afterwards that he felt the spirit very strongly while he married us and that the Lord approves of our marriage. So cool!! It was truly a wonderful experience and it made all the planning worth while. I can't imagine being married anywhere else and I can't imagine being sealed for eternity to anyone else. I'm so thankful to have such a wonderful husband that loves me despite my shortcomings. I picked a good one and there is no seven year itch here;) Love you honey!

Travis looks kind of devious is that first picture. I'm glad that we met you guys. We've had a lot of fun together. I hope your anniversary is awesome. Sorry that Tony couldn't dodge that crash over the weekend. I thought of you guys when I saw it on ESPN this morning. Hope it didn't put a damper on your anniversary celebration.
