Christmas Eve

I'm finally getting to my Christmas posts! We spend Christmas Eve at Travis' parents house.

We had a yummy dinner and then Grandma and Grandpa read the Christmas story with the help of the girls and a cute nativity figurine. (Jordyn loved this)

He was beyond tired so I took him to a quiet area to get him to sleep!

We had a great Christmas Eve!

My friend's babies!

A good friend from my work just had a baby and I wanted to go see her before she went back. She lives super close and I have no idea why we haven't hung out before!

This is her big baby!! Isn't he adorable??? His name is Brutus:)

 And this is her little baby!! So cute!!



We got Tangled!!

We took advantage of Travis having the day off today and enjoyed a movie out with the kids. Trav made me realize that this was the first movie that we have all seen together (minus seeing Toy Story 3 at the Drive In) as a family! I've taken the kids with my parents to see movies but I guess we haven't seen one with Daddy. That's pretty sad but was happy we remedied it! When we first got there, Jordyn had to go to the bathroom and ran right into the Men's bathroom!! Makenna ran right in after her and I had to yell for them to get out while the guy taking the tickets laughed at me:) Once we were seated, the previews started and one came on about Justin Bieber. It was very loud so Jordyn covered her ears and said her ears hurt. Travis then replied, "It's ok sweetie. My ears hurt when I hear Justin Bieber too!" He had me and everyone around us laughing. Jordyn was a lot better than she has been in the past. And even when she got restless, she was fine once she got some licorice or kisses:) I think it had to do with it being a Princess movie too! Baby boy was good as well. I was a little worried about it since he is a lot more mobile. I kept him in his car seat for as long as he would let me, feeding him puffs and stuff and then nursed him when he was tired of sitting. He did really well. Jordyn also loved making her shoes light up in the dark (something I didn't think of before). Makenna was just awesome. She loved the movie and just sat there enamored by it and eating her popcorn. She ate that popcorn during the whole movie! She is just like her Mommy! And on the way out, she asked if she could play one of the games. I was confused for a minute and didn't know what she was talking about. Then we came out of the theater and I realized she was talking about the slot machines!! Sorry honey!! You can't play 'those' games!! Haha!! Only in Vegas!! We had a great time and I'm glad we went:)

Little man is nine months old!!

Seriously, where has the time gone??? My baby boy is nine months old??? How did this happen??? I can't believe this little man will be a year old in just a few short months! He is such a cute little chunky monkey!! I haven't weighed him yet today but will edit this later:) He is a master crawler, sits up like a champ, pulls up to standing and has 3 and 3/4 teeth!! He got his top left on the 3rd and is just about to get his top right! It's almost there! Aiden still doesn't sleep through the night...stinker!!  He likes to wake up at anytime between 2 and 4 (usually 3ish). It wouldn't be too bad if he went right back to sleep (which he used to do) but lately he acts like he wants to stay up and gets a second wind. Sorry baby...it's not time to wake up for the day. It's hard too because if I'm up too long, then it's hard to go back to sleep. But...I hope it's coming to an end. Tonight will be the first night that I'm going to let him cry it out. We did it with both the girls and now it's his turn. I just want us to be rested and it's better for him if he can put himself to sleep. Wish us luck:)

-I love how you stare at our food when we are eating...(You are gradually getting tastes of all of that food:)
-I love how your bottom lip sticks out when you get your feelings hurt. It's so precious.
-I love your sweet giggle.
-I love that you love your baths and showers and love to splash.
-I love how content you are in your car seat while we have to drive your sisters all around and will chill out until I'm ready for you to get out or you have finally had enough.
-I love the sweet kisses (sucks on face) that you give me:)
-I love how you smile and flirt with everyone you see.
-I love that you are a Mama's boy!
-I love everything about you baby boy!!

Nativity

Jordyn just loves to play with figurines. She can play with them for the longest time. She will make them move around and talk. I love watching her!! Well, at Christmas time, we got our nativities out and she couldn't stop playing with this particular set;)

Makenna's list

So obviously I am trying to catch up and blog about all of our Christmas stuff. Here is Makenna's list to Santa Claus this year. She wanted to draw what she wanted and also wrote one out but I don't know where that one ended up:)
She wrote on it (pe) which is supposed to be puppy??? I told her we already have two dogs but she wanted a small puppy! Sorry..Santa couldn't get you that one sweetheart:) The other word is supposed to be scooter:) There is also a table with tea cups on it, a pool and a rainbow castle with a unicorn?? Silly girl! Then she put a barbie on for Jordyn and race track with a race car for Aiden...so cute!! I thought it was a golf club:) Makenna is too funny!!

Gingerbread house!

This was my first attempt at a Gingerbread house. Travis did one last year with the girls while I was at work and he wouldn't do it this year. I said I would do it....it couldn't be THAT hard, right??? Um...yup, it could be that hard! The frosting was so thick that the plastic bag broke right away so I just slopped it on with my hands. It was super messy! I thought I was doing really well and figured we could put the gumdrops on the top since I had to put frosting there to hold it together. And then I figured we could put snow on the roof and then ended up putting ornaments all over. Well, you are supposed to let it dry overnight but I thought it was holding well until I saw that the gumdrops were sinking. The roof was starting to slide!!! Eeek!!

This is me trying to hold it together. I had Trav take a picture of it in case it just all fell apart.

 

After a lot of frosting under the eves to try to hold it together, we let it sit overnight. You see half of the gumdrops sunken into the middle of the roof:)

Makenna did all the 'ornaments' :)

The next day we finished it off with a door and window. We also put snow on the ground and plants around the front. I think it turned out well for my first time and Makenna had fun doing it with me. I wouldn't say I want to run out and do it again soon but I'm glad we did it:)

This little dude will lay on anything that is a blanket, jacket or even a towel. He just likes to be cuddled up on something comfy which is funny because he wouldn't even get on the couch when we first got him. I wonder if he wasn't allowed with his old owners:)

He will even lay on them if they are in a storage bucket:-) Anything to be comfy!!

Trip to the Temple

We decided to go up to the temple during Christmas break and walk around. The girls love going up there. This is an attempt at a cute pic with the temple in the background. I guess I didn't get as much of the temple as I thought I did:)
