Nativity

Jordyn just loves to play with figurines. She can play with them for the longest time. She will make them move around and talk. I love watching her!! Well, at Christmas time, we got our nativities out and she couldn't stop playing with this particular set;)

Makenna's list

So obviously I am trying to catch up and blog about all of our Christmas stuff. Here is Makenna's list to Santa Claus this year. She wanted to draw what she wanted and also wrote one out but I don't know where that one ended up:)
She wrote on it (pe) which is supposed to be puppy??? I told her we already have two dogs but she wanted a small puppy! Sorry..Santa couldn't get you that one sweetheart:) The other word is supposed to be scooter:) There is also a table with tea cups on it, a pool and a rainbow castle with a unicorn?? Silly girl! Then she put a barbie on for Jordyn and race track with a race car for Aiden...so cute!! I thought it was a golf club:) Makenna is too funny!!

Gingerbread house!

This was my first attempt at a Gingerbread house. Travis did one last year with the girls while I was at work and he wouldn't do it this year. I said I would do it....it couldn't be THAT hard, right??? Um...yup, it could be that hard! The frosting was so thick that the plastic bag broke right away so I just slopped it on with my hands. It was super messy! I thought I was doing really well and figured we could put the gumdrops on the top since I had to put frosting there to hold it together. And then I figured we could put snow on the roof and then ended up putting ornaments all over. Well, you are supposed to let it dry overnight but I thought it was holding well until I saw that the gumdrops were sinking. The roof was starting to slide!!! Eeek!!

After a lot of frosting under the eves to try to hold it together, we let it sit overnight. You see half of the gumdrops sunken into the middle of the roof:)

Makenna did all the 'ornaments' :)

The next day we finished it off with a door and window. We also put snow on the ground and plants around the front. I think it turned out well for my first time and Makenna had fun doing it with me. I wouldn't say I want to run out and do it again soon but I'm glad we did it:)

This little dude will lay on anything that is a blanket, jacket or even a towel. He just likes to be cuddled up on something comfy which is funny because he wouldn't even get on the couch when we first got him. I wonder if he wasn't allowed with his old owners:)

He will even lay on them if they are in a storage bucket:-) Anything to be comfy!!

Trip to the Temple

We decided to go up to the temple during Christmas break and walk around. The girls love going up there. This is an attempt at a cute pic with the temple in the background. I guess I didn't get as much of the temple as I thought I did:)

Carpet???

This is what our lawn looked like when we got home from our Disneyland vacation. I didn't know we ordered carpet for our lawn:-0)

Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam!!

Today was Jordyn's first day as a Sunbeam!! We kept hyping it up that she was going to be a big girl and get a new teacher. She was so excited. She got to stand in line with Makenna to go into sharing time and was doing so well. But once she got in there and had to sit with her class, she started crying for me:( And of course Makenna had scripture and prayer so I had to be in there and that didn't help things. After I was done with Makenna, Jordyn went to sit with her and was fine but then Makenna had to go to the bathroom and she started screaming. I had to go in and sit with her but once Makenna came back, Jordyn went to go sit with her again. I left after that and as far as I know, everything was fine after that! Hopefully she will gradually feel comfortable sitting with her class. I can't believe I don't have a kid in nursery right now:) She is so big!!
(This is after church so her hair is a mess:)

Makenna did so well with her scripture and prayer. I remember pretty recently when she wouldn't even say anything and I had to give her whole talk and now she got up there with all the confidence in the world and did an awesome job. And she did the prayer all by herself and asked that we have a good day with our new teachers. I can't believe what a big girl she is getting to be either. I am sad though that her class got split up and two of her good girlfriends are in the other class. She seems to do well with anyone though since she is so friendly:)

And little man just got to go to class with me:) He sure looked like a stud today. Too bad I couldn't get him to look at me for a picture but you get the idea;) He is such a good boy if you have lots of toys to play with and puffs to eat! :)
(He got to play with his buddy Parker today....they had a good time playing with each other's toys:)

What a year!!

I am so behind on my blogging that I don't know where to start. I haven't done anything at all about Christmas! I will get there eventually and I can always change the date later so that it is still in 2010:) But first I will do the same as Sarah and do a best and worst.....

What is the best thing that happened to you in 2010?
This one is easy...obviously it's the birth of our son! He has been such a joy to have in our home and I can't imagine life without that crooked smile;) I have truly enjoyed having a BOY around! And the girls love their little brother!

What is the worst thing that happened in 2010?
This one is easy too....It would have to be my Grandma passing away! She was such a big part of all of our lives. She was the center and brought everyone together. It won't ever be like that anymore. We miss her terribly (especially my sweet Kenna) and it's been hard going through the holidays without her!

What are your hopes for 2011?
I have a few! I hope to be financially stable which thanks to a loan modification for our house just might make that possible!! We actually got Bank of America to work with us to lower our payment. It's exciting and scary at the same time because it's awesome that we get to stay in our house but we are so upside down that there would be no way to sell it and go somewhere else for a very, very long time. We aren't planning on going anywhere....it's just the fact that you couldn't even if you wanted to:)
I also hope to lose weight! I know this is every one's goal but I still have baby weight that needs to go!! I feel bad because I was down to a weight that I loved right before I got prego and I really want to get back there. It seems like I keep an extra ten pounds after each baby....which would add to thirty with number three!! And it seems like it stays put and won't go anywhere while I'm nursing! And since I nurse for a year......yeah, it stinks. I'm hoping that I at least get down some before our 10th anniversary!!
I hope to be a better mom. I want to not lose my temper as fast. To try to not get aggravated with Makenna getting dressed in the morning. To try not to get so upset when Jordyn just yells for no reason at all. To try not to get irritated when Aiden won't sleep at night! Pretty much just to be a calmer Mom!! :)

P.S. Just in the last week or two, Mr. Aiden has started sitting up from a crawling position and he is a lot more stable sitting up. I don't worry about him falling over anymore. He has also starting climbing up on stuff and standing!! It's so crazy because he wasn't doing anything and now he is doing everything all at once!!! He is also about to get his top left tooth! It's right there but just won't come out!! I really hope it comes out soon because he is waking up at night like he did when he was a newborn and not napping well either!! Come on tooth!! :)
