Music, music, music

Phew! Today was a long one. We left for church at 12:30 this afternoon and didn't get home until 9:00 tonight. Before church, Travis was warming up for a stake choir and orchestra concert tonight and our girls kept matching his pitch. Makenna matches it so well and even Jordyn kept making noises with him. It was so cute. After church, we went to my parents house to have dinner and cake for my dad's birthday and then rushed over to the stake center for the concert. It was so nice and I always love hearing Travis play. I feel so proud of him and he just gives me goose bumps. It's just nice to actually hear him in a LDS church since they don't like trumpets in the normal meetings. I personally don't understand why because I think it's a very beautiful instrument and you can use things like mutes to make them quieter but I digress. Anyway, so after that, I picked up my girls from my parents house hoping that Jordyn would fall asleep on the way home (since it was way past her bedtime) and of course that didn't happen. She was screaming and this sweet, wonderful child of mine started singing her church songs the whole way home. Makenna is such a good big sis and I love to hear her sing. I'm thinking that she is going to be very big into music like her daddy.

It is amazing to me how she knows the words to so many songs. She is so smart. I think all of the credit goes to her mommy though. You have sung songs to her since the beginning and she has learned them all from you. Jordyn loves to hear you sing too. When she was so sick with her ears and she was crying, she heard you singing to Makenna upstairs through the monitor and she stopped crying and listened to you.

I didn't know Travis plays the trumpet! I obviously need to start going to the stake orchestra/choir things. =) That is soooo sweet about your girls and the singing.
