First taste of food!!

We gave Aiden his first taste of food on Saturday! I usually don't feed my babies food other than me until they are six months old but he has been staring at our food with a look of longing lately so we decided to let him have some. He did very well and ate it right up. He totally loved it!

This look is deceiving. He liked it alot!

And of course Makenna had to feed him too! I think she is going to be a good helper:)

Jordyn is 3!!!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!!

My sweet J is three today! I really can't believe that three years have come and gone since I took this picture! She was born just over two weeks early but was my biggest baby at just over 8 pounds. She had the yummiest cheeks and out of all my kids, she was born with the darkest hair. And she had more of it than the other two:) It was so neat because you could already see it curly right from the start. Miss J also made us worry the most. The day after she was born, the nurse found that she was breathing way too fast. The doc ordered tests and when he came to check on her, she was still breathing way too fast. He ordered even more tests which included blood taken from her arm. If you have never had to deal with that, you are lucky! It was absolutely horrible. I had to walk down the hall because she was screaming so much. Later that night, her daddy gave her a blessing that he cried through which in turn made me ball like a baby. But it was so sweet and tender and obviously all is fine with her now. It truly made for a stressful postpartum couple of days for us though. I don't know how parents do it when their brand new babies have to go into the NICU!
After her stressful start, Jordyn has been such a joy to have in our family! That first year went by fast and lots of family came to celebrate (even Grandma Great).

She turned into a little firecracker once she turned two. I love this picture because it looks just like Jordyn does now....just smaller.

Jordyn has the sweetest, funnest personality. She loves her sister and does everything that Makenna does. And I mean everything!! They love to play dress up together and run around outside. And the cutest thing that Jordyn loves to do is play with her figurines or cars. She will play for the longest time moving them back and forth along the couches. Or up and down the stairs in her little house. Or back and forth on the bed when she is supposed to be going to sleep. I really need to get a video of her doing it because it is so adorable to watch her and see her little imagination going. I watched her play in her room the other day and she was making them go up and down the books on her shelf that were laying flat. I asked her what they were doing and she said they were going up stairs....duh! She truly is the cutest!!

And I just had to add this picture of her because it's so cute. She will go around in just her underwear (or pull up if it's just after a nap) and not care. And of course this girl doesn't wear shoes. She will take them off the second we get in the car and it's hard to keep them on her even if we are outside or out somewhere!

I just love, love, love this little girl. I'm so glad she picked me to be her mommy. We love her so very much. Happy Birthday sweet J!!

Five months

Mr. Aiden is five months old today!! And to celebrate, he got to go to the doctor's office and get shots!! Poor guy:) He is such a happy guy and it's sad to know that I am taking him in happy and leaving crying. He did well though. Aiden weighs in at 17 pounds 6 ounces (73%) and 26.75 inches (85%) and his head is in the 90th percentile. Poor guy has a big head. The doc said his head is a nice shape though and said he must not lay on his back too much. Haha!! Um....that's the only way he lays because he absolutely hates tummy time!! He will roll from his back to tummy but won't roll back and then gets mad and starts crying so I can't even lay him on the floor very often. I'm happy that it's not making his head misshapen though. He had a huge growth spurt for his length. Doc was worried that he wasn't big enough last appointment and this time he is the size of a seven month old. Yay! He found some tooth buds coming so I'm sure that is why Aiden has been chewing on his hand all the time. I'm also hoping this is one of the reasons why he is waking up in the night and that it will get better soon. Here's to hoping:) We are going to start cereal this week. I waited until 6 months with both of the girls because I heard that helps to prevent allergies but I think he is ready and he is almost 6 months anyway. I am only going to do cereals until then as well. He keeps grabbing at my food and stares at it so I think he wants that experience. And hopefully I will be able to leave him with some grandparents once he can have some nourishment from someone other than me!! Stinker just wouldn't take the bottle. Anyway, after the doc looked him over, it was time for the shots. I told the nurse to get ready for a very high pitched squeal and at first I thought he was going to make me a liar. He just cried regular but then I picked him up and he let it out. He was telling me that he wasn't very happy with that!! :) I just love this little man!!
This was after he woke up from his nap screaming and then fell back asleep after some nummies. I hope his shots don't hurt him too bad.

Loving life even through the craziness

I love blogs. I love writing in my blog. I love reading my friends' blogs. And I even love reading blogs of people I have never met before. Trav thinks I'm weird for that one but we can learn so much from other's experiences. Especially the one's that have lost their little ones. I have literally balled my eyes out reading some of these posts and each time I do, I question why I do it. I really don't know why but every time I do, it makes me want to love on my babies just a little more. It makes me want to spend more quality time with them. It makes me not want to waste precious time with these sweet spirits that we were blessed with. I often feel guilty for not doing these things enough. For spending too much time worrying about a clean house. For spending too much time wondering if I should go back to work instead of staying home and doing the most important job I will ever have. For getting mad so quickly when things get crazy and I'm about to pull my hair out. I want to be a better mom. I think we should always strive to be better parents, better children, better friends, better relatives. It should be something that will be a constant goal throughout our lives and I know that I need to be reminded of it every now and again. Sometimes life is crazy especially when you have kids. Trav and I look at each other all the time when the kids are screaming and yelling and he says, "Wasn't it easier before we had kids?" Of course it was easier when you were only responsible for yourselves. But I say, "Was it better?" Not a chance!! I can't imagine life without my three crazies!! And boy are they crazy. There are tantrums and whining. Fighting and sleepless nights. But I am loving life even through the craziness. They are my life!!

Makenna's first homework and hickey!

Or should I say Mommy and Daddy's first homework:) We got to color and decorate a Makenna mini me for her classroom. It can have anything on it that describes Makenna including her interests, pets, etc. and we can color, use magazine clippings, pictures or whatever you want to make it. And of course we wait until the last day! :) I think it turned out pretty awesome though. I'm just glad Trav has some artistic talent because if it was left up to me, it probably wouldn't resemble much! It has Makenna's brown eyes and curly hair (Grandma Millett got us some cool looking hair). Then we looked through magazines to find things that she likes. She loves necklaces so we cut one out for her to wear and nail polish. We also put grapes and a lollipop on there and added pics of her siblings and dogs. Makenna requested a 'rainbow' shirt and blue sandals and we put a CTR ring on her hand to finish the ensemble:)

And just to add....Makenna's first hickey! She decided to put a medicine cup around her lips and suck really hard which caused this lovely purple around her mouth!! It was a lot darker last night and I was praying that it would lighten up in the morning for school. It was still pretty dark so I even added some of my concealer to it to try to hide it a bit (kids can be cruel and I didn't want her to deal with that already). She was very worried that the kids would laugh at her and I kept reassuring her that they wouldn't while secretly hoping that this would be true! All went well and she said that no one even said anything about it! Phew! Anyway, here is a nice pic of her purple mouth:)

Sweet little man

Mr. Aiden was supposed to have his four month check up two weeks ago but our pediatrician had a family emergency and cancelled that appointment plus the appointment we rescheduled it for. And since school started and whatnot, he isn't going to have his four month check up until his five month birthday. I still had to post some stats on him though!! He was weighed and measured at his heart appointment so I will just use those. He was 16 pounds 5 ounces and was 26 1/2 inches long! I have no idea what percentage but at least it's documented. He has been drooling and chewing on his fingers like crazy so I am pretty sure he is teething. He is always a happy camper! Such a happy little guy. I can't believe how much he has grown in these few short months. He has been rolling from his back to front really well but once he is on his tummy, he starts to scream. He hates being on his tummy!! He learned how to roll from his tummy to his back first so I don't know why he just won't roll back over but he won't. Silly boy!! Aiden also doesn't sleep very well in his crib during the day. He will sleep a long time in his swing but for only like half an hour to an hour in his crib. Weird! He is fine at night but not during the day. He also has been waking up more at night. He was sleeping like 11 hours straight but that changed and he wakes at least once a night now. I can't wait until he is sleeping all the way through again!

I am so in love with this little dude. He makes everyone smile!! And of course I had to add a couple of pics of our Aiden!! Love this little man!

I LOVE baby feet!!
