Chucks!!

I think Travis and I are opposite of what we are supposed to be. I absolutely hate shopping (no fun with no money) and he is always wanting to go to the store during the summer (always wants to get out of the house and by himself;). He happened to be at Kohls one day just looking around and found these.....

They were on sale for $7....normally $30. He couldn't pass them up. He also found some for Aiden when he gets older. You can't beat that price!!

Doesn't she look adorable in them? They will look even cuter when they match her outfit:)

(Don't look at her hair....we don't do it during the summer if we aren't going anywhere:)

Nascar Race

They gave away free Nascar tickets to teachers so we were able to go to the race over the weekend. We pretty much gave up on going anymore a few years ago because it gets expensive but you can't beat free!!

We got there and browsed around. There was this dodge area that had sports cars taking people on some wild rides. We also got me a hat at the Tony trailer. Guess who's trailer had the most people? Not Tony, or Gordon or even Johnson! It was Danica Patrick!! She's raced a whole three races and I've never seen lines this long! Crazy!

We wondered how good our seats were going to be and we were very pleasantly surprised. They were even a little better than the seats that we spend some good money on and we got to sit on the end!! How lucky were we??? Yes! I didn't have to climb over people with my huge belly to go to the bathroom.

Tony's car!

Joe's fave...Kurt Busch with the Shelby pace car.

Tony again with dumb ol' Gordon

This was the flyover by the Thunderbirds during the National Anthem!! It was very cool!!
And this is a restart:)
We had fun and we didn't have to wait too long to get out since we left early. You don't feel guilty about leaving early when you didn't pay for anything:)

Back to school/work for Daddy:)

Travis was home with us all summer and the girls got very used to it. The first day back, Jordyn came downstairs and didn't see her daddy. She points upstairs and said, "night night??" She wanted to go up and wake him up! It was so cute. And the other day, Makenna asked where daddy was. I told her he was at work and she said that he needed to stop that and come home with us! Love it and gotta love a great daddy:)

We also have decided to not put Makenna in preschool. It's just too expensive right now and I don't know if I was ready to send her to strangers yet:) Fortunately, some wonderful ladies asked me to do joy school with them. I think this will be wonderful and be just as good if not better than preschool. It will be with women that I know and trust and it gives me a chance to participate as well and be with my cutie. I'm thrilled that I was asked to do this and I think Makenna is going to love learning and doing new things and spending time with her friends. We also are going to take turns watching the younger ones each week and I hope that Jordyn enjoys that and that it helps her come out of her shell.

Travis cooked!!

We went out to dinner to Applebee's last week and we love their spinach and artichoke dip. It is so yummy! I made the comment that we should find the recipe and try to make it. Well, Travis looked it up, got the recipe, got the stuff at the store and cooked it up!! And he did a splendid job! It was so yummy and it looked and tasted just like the Applebee's kind. Not so good for my diet but o-well, it was worth it!! ;)

Here is the recipe to any who want to try it:
Applebee's hot artichoke and spinach dip
1 (10 ounce) box frozen chopped spinach, thawed
1(14 ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and roughly chopped
1 cup shredded parmesan-romano cheese mix
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
10 ounces prepared alfredo sauce
1 teaspoon minced garlic
4 ounces softened cream cheese
pepper (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine ingredients thoroughly in a bowl and spread mixture into a small baking dish (8"X8" dish). Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cheeses are bubbling and melted. Serve with chips or bread.
The ingredients can get kinda expensive if you don't have some on hand but it makes a big batch. You will want enough people to share with;)

Back to the temple

I love the temple. It's so peaceful and beautiful up on that hill. I'm so glad my mom and dad watched the girls so we could go on Saturday to my cousin's sealing.
Trav got this cool shot.

My grandma looked so cute;)
I can't wait to go again. It will probably be in Palmyra next time;-}

Overall fun

When I put overalls on Jordyn, Makenna had to get hers on too. Travis kept swinging Jordyn by her straps and she LOVED it!! And then Makenna wanted in on it too. It looks so silly but they were having a blast.

Bootie shot!!

It was so funny to watch them try to walk afterwards;-)

And I just had to add this in. It's Makenna's version of our spider from the other day;) She knows spiders have eight legs but these must be special spiders!!
