We have had so much rain this week! It's been crazy. We got more rain this week than we did in all of 2009! Now that is a lot of rain for a few days! And when it rains at home, it snows up in the mountains. There was so much snow and it was so beautiful!! I really wanted to take the kiddos up to let them play in it (not sure if either one has ever played in it....pretty sure Jordyn hasn't) so I talked Travis into taking us:) We didn't tell them where we were going and ironically as soon as we left, Jordyn looked at the mountains and said, "wow, look at the snow!!"
This is the view driving up to the Mt. Charleston! It is so pretty with the snow all the way down.
There were so many people that had the same idea! I figured it would be busy but thought that we would be able to find a place lower than everyone else. This was not the case! The few side areas were completely taken so I was hoping that the parking lot at the hotel would be a good spot to go. Not!! There weren't that many spots that weren't completely covered in snow and the other ones were all taken. There was so much snow, it was crazy. There was a car that was so covered that all you can see was the headlights! So we tried to go up a little further but it just got even more crazier up there. We decided to turn around and hope that we could find a place to stop. By this time, Makenna and Jordyn were whining about wanting to play in the snow. Jordyn even got all hissy and folded her arms! It was too funny. I was really starting to get nervous because the snow drifts on the sides of the road were getting deeper and deeper. I was just hoping that there would be a place to turn around. We found a spot and headed back down the hill. Fortunately, we found an open spot on the side of the road that had an empty spot behind it. And then my parents were driving by right as we were getting out of the car so they got to get that spot before someone else did!! It was great. There were no hills or anything but it was snow and it was something the kids could play in:)
Makenna was so excited!! She wanted to just hop right in! It was so deep and so soft that you just sunk right in.
Jordyn was so excited to get out in it in the car but wasn't so sure when we got out. I so love this pic!!!
You can just see the joy in Makenna's face!!
Jordyn finally tried the snow for herself. She still wasn't too sure though!
I wasn't so sure about going out in it since it was so soft and I'm not so stable anymore:) But I climbed over the little hill and it wasn't so bad if you stomped out a little path so you didn't sink! This leather jacket is pretty big so I was quite surprised to find out that I couldn't even come close to zipping it. So I just tied the strap around me so it would stay semi closed:)
All the way up to the knees!! Every time I'm around snow, I'm glad I don't live in it. We saw some houses that had snow half way up the door!! And of course those cars!! Crazy.
Makenna decided to throw a snow ball at me!
So I got her back:)
I actually like this pic:) I guess snow is a good background for me!
Makenna about to throw a snow ball at the camera man (aka Daddy:)
Found some crackage!! :)
Uh oh!! Snow in the face!!
That didn't make her very happy!!
Pretty girl!
Handsome hubby!
Getting a little taste!
Once Papa wore a good path for us, Jordyn had a great time walking back and forth, back and forth!
She even strayed off the path a little.
Their cousins came to play too and brought sleds. They were both excited to get on!
But then they went overboard and they were both done!! Makenna was so frozen by that point that it hurt!! She was not happy until I got her out of her very wet clothes and into some warm sweats!! Thankfully Grandma and Papa brought lunchables and they were happy campers on the way home with those, their blankets and a movie!!

Makenna was having too much fun. I had fun watching her. Jordyn 'warmed' up to it. The boys never did. Except Izaak, He liked his little easy chair. Fun times.
I have to say. Those are really good pictures of you. And Ken and J and Trav and Izaak and Mason.
