Makenna funnies

My funny Makenna!!

I'm busy Mom! Can't you see that I'm on the phone;) She told me the other day to be quiet because she was talking on the phone. (I have no idea where she got that;) Gotta love the morning froÜ

Makenna was sleeping really late and I decided to see what was going on. This is what I found. How she sleeps like this is beyond me but she was out like a light.

Lately, her big saying is, "Don't be scared Mom, Don't be scared Grandma. You'll be alright. It's ok." She is the second mommy and repeats everything I say. Just yesterday I heard, "Heavens sakes!!" I don't realize how much I say things until she starts to say them. And today, Travis called her a dude. She got really offended and said, "I'm not a dude!!" and huffed away. She just makes us laugh all the time. She won't stop talking;) Such a cutie!

We just wrote the check for our last payment on our car!! It's officially ours!!Ü Now, lets cross our fingers that it doesn't blow up;) I don't think I've ever not had a car payment. Well, we still have Travis'....but still!!!

Cinderella!!

I haven't been a stranger to getting up at night lately but not because of Makenna. Last night she woke up crying Mommy!!

Me: What's the matter, baby?
Kenna: (Pointing at her pillowcase that had Cinderella on it) She's looking at me!!
Me: What?
Kenna: (Rolling her eyes back and forth) She's doing that to me!!

Shame on you Cinderella for rolling your eyes at my little girl! I turned her pillowcase over and we both went back to sleep. What a stinker that Cinderella is sometimes;)

Nice Night Out!!

I was able to get out of the house and leave the girls with my hubby tonight. It was so nice. I went to our Relief Society Birthday dinner and had a great time. They had a very nice dinner served by our bishopric. It was cool to just sit and be served by these men. They did it in honor of all that we do to serve. And they were very good waiters too;) It was a very neat, spiritual night and I'm so glad that I went. And I'm thankful for a hubby that will watch our Mama's girls and not complain too much;)

OUCH!!!

We have a biter on our hands. She bit me twice yesterday and twice today with those two little teeth. Um, yeah, not so nice. It's a good thing she is so cute;)

My name is Krista and I am a worrier

Yes, that's right. I am finally admitting it. My mom and mom in law are worriers and now that I'm a mom, I'm a worrier too. I think it just comes with that title in this family. I also think that we all are in a way or other. For me, with Makenna, I won't let her play out front by herself. Not in this world in this day. I worry that she will get hit by a car. I worry that someone will take her. I worry that she will just wonder off and get lost. I have just recently felt comfortable letting her play by herself out back. I don't know why. I just worry. With Jordyn, I worry about sids. I did with Makenna too. I think it's because it took a while to get pregnant and so I read a lot!! I mean a lot!! I know more than I should know and I think that makes me worry more than others about certain things. I kind of envy other moms that don't worry about these kinds of things. But at the same time, it's what makes me, me. When some moms are putting pretty bumpers and blankets in their cribs when their newborn arrives, I put a pretty sheet on mine. I ended up putting a bumper in Makenna's crib but she was much older and it was to save her head. Jordyn isn't there yet. She rolls over. I know she does but she doesn't do it very much. She is just a mellow baby. She only does it when I leave the room. I can sit next to her for the longest time trying to get her to roll over but she won't do it. I put her down for one minute while I get something in the other room and she has flipped over in that one minute. I'm sure I will eventually put up a bumper in her crib but not until she is a pro. Travis says that she will cry or move if she can't breathe. Yes, he's right but that's not how sids happens. It's when they are really close to something and keep breathing their own air and can't get fresh air. That wouldn't make her wake up. That's why I don't put blankets in there unless they are swaddled in them. I just don't want to take that chance. Yes, it's probably a very small chance of something happening but I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if something happened to my baby because I wanted to get more sleep. No one ever thinks that bad things will happen to them but they do. It happened to someone my friend knows just a couple of weeks ago. She probably didn't think it would happen to her either. I'm not saying that moms are bad if they do that because that is definitely not what I'm saying. Like I said before, I kinda wish I was like that and didn't worry so much about this kind of stuff. I even check to make sure my girls are breathing before I go to bed. I don't know why. I just do. I am also treating this like a journal and just wanted to write down my feelings for myself. Hearing about that baby just brings topics like this to the front of my mind. I think my personality makes me worry about something all the time and I just have to try to not get an ulcer. I guess all I can do is try to keep my girls safe with all that I can do and hand it over to my Father in Heaven for the rest.

Rough night:(

So, I've decided that it's not so much fun sometimes when babies learn new things;) Jordyn woke up 20 minutes after I put her down for her morning nap yesterday and this is how I found her. She ended up on the whole other side of her crib, face down with her arm hanging out.

By this time, I'm sure she was getting ticked off because I was taking pictures and not picking her up.
That night I was up with her every two hours. She would wake up right when I had finally fallen asleep. I hope she moves through this phase FAST!!

First trip to the dentist

Makenna went to the dentist for the first time today. (She's had a lot of firsts lately) I figured it was time to get her checked out now that she is three. Little did I know that she should have gone by one year old. Personally, I think that is a little young unless you can tell that there are problems but that is just me;) Anyway, we were trying to hype it up and saying she GETS to go to the dentist! It was a good first experience though. They had tons of toys and things in the waiting room so she ran back and forth trying everything until they called us back. We told her before we got there that she would have to open her mouth wide but when the dentist asked her to open up, she had her teeth clenched. It took awhile but she finally opened up wide. He said that she has great teeth, no cavities and everything is lined up perfectly. Yay!! And of course she got to pick out a toy in the toy box! She doesn't have to be back for a year when she gets x-rays and a cleaning. Phew! I'm so glad that went well. You just never know with a three year old;)

3 is so fun!!

We decided to do fun stuff just for Makenna for her birthday instead of doing a party for everyone else. It was awesome!! There was no stress. No worrying about cleaning and making sure everyone was entertained. I could concentrate solely on Makenna. And I think it was the best idea ever. We were able to do so much for her because we weren't spending big bucks on feeding others. And we still got to see everyone and spend time with everyone. It was brilliant if I do say so myself. First, on Tuesday, I took her to the museum with Travis' sister and her kids. It was her first time and she had a blast!

Then on Friday, Travis and I took her for her first time to the movies. Grandma watched Jordyn so we could have some one on one with her and we watched "Horton Hears a Who". On Saturday morning, we took her to gymboree to play and have some fun with my sister's son. They play together all the time and had a blast. We got to do a free trial thankfully since their normal rate is a little outrageous.

Saturday night, we went over to Travis' parents house and had pizza and cake. Nancy made a beautiful doll cake and she was super excited about her presents!!

And finally on Sunday (the day of her birthday), she wore a "I turn 3 today" ribbon at church and the nursery sang Happy Birthday to her. After church, we went over to my parents for dinner and cake as well. My mom made her a princess cake and my sister decorated it. It was beautiful as well. She got to play with her new house and had a great day.

I think she had a great week. It was filled with so much fun and we'd like to say thanks to everyone for their gifts. She loves them all. Ü

And after a hard played week full of fun activities, she relaxed with Papa eating some strawberries. (Check out the hand holding......so precious;)
