The rest of Makenna's birthday

After we had fun bowling, we grabbed some pizza and headed back to our house for dinner and cake. These are Makenna's balloons that she picked out. She has a big range of loves:) There is an Ariel balloon and a three princess balloon and a big butterfly!!

Makenna was with us when we got Jordyn's birthday cake back in September and she saw this Bolt cake in the book. She has wanted one ever since!! I have no idea how many times she asked me if she was going to get a Bolt cake!!

The big #5!!!

What a cute look:) Getting sung to.

Blowing out the candle.

Of course Jordyn had to blow it out too!!! Well, her version of blowing:)

Present time!! Princess and the Frog figurines from Grandma and Papa.

And cute clothes as well. Papa has great taste in picking out clothes. He's always been good at shopping!!

They both love those musical cards;)

A minivan for the house she got for Christmas.

Even Jordyn got some new shoes so she didn't feel left out:)

New basket and streamers for her bike!

And the gift that she has wanted since Christmas.......

A white Princess dress!! Good thing her birthday is around Easter. This is actually called a Cinderella dress:)

Happy 5th birthday big girl!! We love you so much!!!

Birthday Bowling!!

I have always been a fan of smaller, more intimate birthday celebrations with just family. I can concentrate on making sure my kids are having fun versus whoever I invited:) I usually do a big party on their first birthdays and then do activities that I know are my kids favorite for the years after. This year, my mom and I took Makenna and Jordyn to see Princess and the Frog at the movie theater the day before her birthday. She was so excited and since it is at the dollar theater, I didn't feel bad about taking my sometimes noisy two year old as well:) Then on her day, we took her bowling. This is her absolute favorite!! She was literally jumping up and down. Grandma and Papa and Uncle Joe were able to come as well. We missed Grandma M. but hope she is feeling better!!
Jordyn was old enough to bowl this time as well. The two sisters had a great time together!!

Waiting for that ball!!!

Action shot!
It's my turn....no, it's my turn!!!
That's some good form:)

Daddy played as well.....Mommy already hurts enough so I skipped out on this time:)

Doing a happy dance!

Having a great time!!

Jordyn playing with her hair and knotting it up while she watches:)

Throw that ball!!

Happy Birthday girl!!

She had fun with the air blowing:)

The final scores!!! Jordyn did so good!! I think Papa needed bumpers too! :) JK!

More to come for the rest of her birthday:)

Makenna is FIVE!!!

I truly can't believe that my big girl is five!! It has gone by so fast but she has grown into a beautiful, loving, sensitive child. I'm so proud of her and for all that she has learned. She does so well in her joy school and surprises me by how much she knows already. She will probably be helping the other kids when she gets to kindergarten this year. She loves her friends but gets her feelings hurt very easily and is so sensitive and tenderhearted. I hope she gets a little tougher before she starts school. Makenna is a huge helper to me (especially being pregnant). She gets her sister out of bed (so I don't have to climb the stairs:), gets things for me and is just a great big sister. Jordyn copies everything that she does (which at some times irritates her) and she loves her so much. She loves church and says the sweetest prayers. I love hearing her pray. She also makes us laugh all the time with the silly things she says. For some reason she calls potatoes, tomatoes, no matter how many times we correct her. She also saw Liam Nieson on the newer Star Wars with his long hair and beard and called him Jesus!! :) She is full of energy and has given up her naps over this past year but crashes when it's bedtime. She shows us her love by giving us hugs and kisses all the time. She is such a joy to have in our home and we are so thankful to have this sweet spirit as our daughter. Happy Birthday Makenna, Kenna, Kenna boo, boo bear, Kenna Rae, Ken. We Love You!!!
